    3s just killed my tranny

i was at the park bashing my slash, and all of a sudden there went the famous winding noise you normally get from a loose slipper or loose pinion...with very little movement....i was frustrated at first because i didnt know if it was the motor that went...well i had a aluminum tranny in the basement that i took out of my pede and threw that in the slash today....and boom back in the game....sweetness...
sooooo...i took the bad tranny apart it apears there is or was a small plastic washer of some kind around the slipper shaft that got bound up in the tranny, the gears seam to be fine but i will inspect it more tomorrow...i want to put this one back together, its always good to have a spare...

will this happen often with 3s ???????

Make sure to grease those teflon washers. That just happened to me.

I just replaced my stock plastic tranny after about 10-15 3s packs through it, all the guts including teflons looked good but man was the plastic case warped/worn out. Aluminum for the win. I've had the same teflon washers for almost a year now.

Makes you wonder if these things are getting too powerful for their own good...

Maybe traxxas needs to make a stronger transmission.

Well it's getting old isn't it? That plastic mount was only conceived originally for stinger motors not power hungry brushless monsters. A small design tweak like an aluminium plate would improve it greatly IMO
