Gearing

So I'm in the process of converting my tmaxx to and emaxx and I'm wanting to try the stock motor out of my slash 4x4. I know it's a little small but I have it sitting on the shelf collecting dust. But anyways what kind of gearing do you think would works best or where should I start. Not looking for top speed runs

It will work but use the lowest gearing possible at first for torque.
the vxl motor can push an emaxx around I'm sure it can push a tmaxx if you remove all the unnecessary weight.

Also what batteries do you plan to use. You are going to have to be careful with your gearing you are going to be asking a lot from that system in the maxx.

Not sure the kv but it's the stock vxl motor out of a slash 4x4 ultimate. I only have 3 cell 65c thunder power batteries. Would a 2 cell be better ?

The motor is the vxl 3500. Do you have a temp gun so you can monitor how much heat the motor is going to make on 3s ?

Yeah have a temp gun what's a good temp around 130

Traxxas says 200 max. I would keep it around 150 to 160 just to be safe.

I have a feeling the VXL will struggle in a Maxx, it's a pretty small motor meant for like a 7 pound truck not a 17 pound truck.

gear it slow & low. Take it easy, watch temps, don't hammer on it.....
