Need any more info just let me know, im running 11.1v lipo's from traxxas.
Please, any advice?
Yes it is. Get a new servo. Same thing has happened to me. And if u were about to ask which servo to get i speak for almost all here and reccomend the 390.
X2 for the 390 you won't regret it and the price can't be beat.
Thank u so Much guys!
So why can't traxxas make a servo thats worth putting in their trucks. like a high torque mini servo?
Can u give me a link to that X2 for the 390 servo?
I use tower hobbies stock is backked up. What should i get for steering?

Hs-5085mg is stronger digital version of mg85

Love how Noobs ask a ?, then say you're wrong
Something that is not mentioned often, is the fact that the Hitec servos cant be used with the stock servo horn where the 390 can.
Both Hitec 85MG and Bluebird 390 work fine here. If I would have to make the choice over again, I would pick the 390.
Nobody is born with experience.
I had a nice aluminum horn spare parts from my 1/8 scale buggy
Lots of great information here...
I too chose the 390... either the BlueBird or *******, basically the exact same servo.
If you do choose the 390...
390 Set Up
All stock hardware is used.
NONE of the hardware included is needed!
There are tab braces that do not allow the servo gaurd to sit flush.
IT IS OPTIONAL TO REMOVE THEM.
I have done this both ways without any adverse reactions.
Here is a picture of the braces:
(thanks goes to danielhr77 for the picture)
The tab braces create a small gap between the chassis and the servo gaurd.
You will also need to reverse the servo direction.
These are the steps to follow to do so for LINK:
Hold MENU for 3 seconds
Green Blinks
Press MENU
2 Green Blinks
Press SET
Green Blinks
Press SET
Red Blinks
Press SET
8 Green Blinks
Hold MENU
Setup Complete
Whatever it is I just said... I could be wrong.
I ordered the 390, but it was on back order so its gonna be a while, i may have to get another stock one in the meantime.
dude just get the hitec one at lhs

If you want maxx power get the hitec 5245 76oz and. 12 and you don't have to wait for a month for a servo to come off backorder then another month on shipping
Tower hobbies didnt have the hitec one, and i couldn't find a place to order it, so thats why i just decided to get the 390, plus its a direct fit. If u know where to find the hitec one online tho let me kno cuz ill be waiting on the 390 for awhile.
@Jimmie Neutron ...will i really have to reverse the 390, thanks for all the info!
forget the 5245 wont fit strongest hitec is the 5085mg.had a 390 on backorder after 25 days i emailed them asking how much longer .they said whenever i had ordered it i was on a long list .wouldn't be within 30 days from when i ordered it.if i waited with shipping time it would be mid july if i was lucky!
Yea, im in the same situation, i should have never ordered it on backorder. Ill prolly look up the hitec 5085mg. Thank You 50togo.
What kind or size of servo horn should i buy to make the hitec servo work, the 5085MG?
Search hitec 55701
Thank U 50togo! I found the metal servo horn for the hitec thanks to u.
Wish i would of known that. You can just use one that is included and cut one end off to make it look like the one 50 mentioned.
Emaxx #3903, MERV
RPM/PROLINE
Plastic one works ok but aluminum will hold better with no flex
When i plugggged it in and in channel one where the servo plugs into, it(servo) just goes crazy when i turn it on(esc).

My problem is i cannot get green blinks after the first step, only red blinks :/
All I can think is that maybe I turned low voltage detection off by accident. Cuz it is green when the low voltage detection is on.
Nevermind just turned it on shined green, cannot get green blinks tho.
Steps for link? Are u talking about on the controller, bc i have the old style one.
I have the old tx so i just switched the servo reversing switch, and i have tried everything with the esc, its a problem with the remote control i think. The light is solid green, TILL i turn the remote control on then it trips or turns red, But when its red it works just fine but im afraid that if the lights on red low voltage protection wont be on and i'm running traxxas power cell 3cell 11.1v lipo, just one at a time not supposed to run lipo with voltage protection off it says.
Ok I ran it like that anayway, and voltage cut off semeed to work but when it was done it flashed red? And light was red on esc, green light on esc till i turn my remote control on then it goes red? Crazy? Don't wanna ruin my lipo's just being safe.....BUT the servo WORKED YEA!
