motors and batteries

i have a stock rustler, which is fun and all but i would like a little more speed and power. are all traxxas motors able to be used on all traxxas cars? and if i got a new motor should i get a new battery to better suit it? suggestions on motors batteries. etc?

All Traxxas motors CAN NOT be used on all Traxxas vehicles. For a rustler, the same motor is used on the Slash, Rustler, Bandit, and Stampede. A 1/16th scale motor from a mini Slash will not provide enough power for a 1/10th scale vehicle such as the Rustler, and a Revo sized motor will be too big for the Rustler.

As for the battery....it is hard to say unless we know what motor you plan to use and what battery you are currently using now.

im running the titan 12t 550 motor with the battery included in the box which is an 8.4v 3000mah traxxas power cell

and its a 1/10 scale truck. im just trying to learn a little bit more about my rustler and what im able to mod

Look at going brushless with the VXL system . You need to change the xl5 esc and titan motor - amazing difference then if more is wanted go with lipo battery .

Any Traxxas 1/10th scale motors will do fine ( I suggest splurging for a vxl brushless system)...and I would suggest upgrading to a 2c (5000mah minimum) Lipo and charger.

It will run fine, but I like to have atleast a 5ooo mah battery for longer run times

It would work - and you will see noticable power increase with brushless - add lipo to it and WOW

I'm running 9.6v NiMH Powercells with my VXL system and running 43.8 mph gears 23/86 on 8.4v on the same setup 32 mph . Brushless is the way to go . With the stock setup 23.7 mph titan 12t 550 motor

i am currently running a Trinity Amber motor in my Rustler. How would the Titan compare to the Amber? Does the Titan fit my new upgraded "grey" transmission?
