A new to me body

I stumbled upon a slash 4x4 Jerry Whelchel body, it was only $15 bucks so i grabbed it, i personally thinks its the best looking body ever, it was used, but not abused, had one crack in the rear. What should i put on the underside to protect it from getting more cracks? And another question is, i run my truck with paddles at the beach, should i run it with this body?

Personaly I use elektric tape because you can stretch it a little bit, but duck-tape is also possible.
Using the body with paddles should be no problem, but you could mount the body a little higher.

i started using the body repair tape from T.O.P. Racing. its like $5 for a roll. Works good for contact areas where tire rubs occur. Protects the paint a bit longer. Good and flexible on application too, so it works great around contours and body details.

I used a tons of electrical tape from day one on areas that saw frequent rubbing like where the body contacts the nerf bars, body mounts and bumpers. Without protection it rubbed through the paint pretty quickly. Now on cracked areas I've uses a bunch on RTV gasket maker, its seems to stick the the surfaces, both inside and out and resist shock pretty well while holding the body together. I have about 5 decent sized cracks in my stock body and they are all around the two rear body mounts and the rear bumper and all have RTV holding them shut right now.

i wouldn't use electrical tape myself because if you apply it anywhere and stretch it in the process it will shrink back and peel off.

It seems to not fit right, on my rpm fornt and rear bumpers, it goes over the rear bumper, but the front is fine. Why is it causing it to go over the rear RPM bumper?

Shoe gloo and any tape see if you can get a popsicles stick to apply the shoe gloo
Spread it like peanut butter so when it drys it days smoot. once you get it smooth get
Your pre cut tape and stick it too the shoe gloo while its still wet and press hard
Get an old credit card or something like that to help you smooth out the tape on top

why do i want to say that body is the Slash 2wd style? I know i have seen them on them, do not recall seeing it as a Slash 4x4 option. Been wrong before though... might explain the fitment issue.

if they did do that on the 4x4 as well is it maybe a 2wd shell sold as a 4x4 shell? Bought used, they could have been mistaken?

Use shoe goo with dry wall mesh tape, it work realy good I made a lot of repair on my body and it crack everywherevelse but
Never where I made the repair now my body is abt. 80 / 100 cover with it

when it was on the 4x4, it fit right, maybe my bumper is wierd, idk

Its ugly as heck but it does the job. Plus it looks factory from the outside.
