    Performance shocks

    Hey guys,
I have my trusty rustler here, and its my 3s lipo basher! My next step in upgrades is shocks. At the moment, I have the stock ultra shocks, and they work decently. I am looking to buy some aluminum-bodied shocks, with threaded bodies, and possibly aluminum caps. I am also on a price budget, but I dont really have a price limit, just looking for somethin cheap. What do you guys out there use for bashing and all around good handeling and tunability? Thanks!

I really like traxxas big bores, although they are not threaded for tune-ability they do have aluminum shock caps.

Big bore's are a complete aluminium shock. Body and cap. The shaft's are the nitrate shaft's and are super strong. Alot cheaper than say Proline's Powerstroke's.

Big Bores if you are looking for the cheaper route.....Proline Powerstrokes if you want threaded bodies.

Losi ten-t shocks are another popular option as well.

I'm was on a budget a few years ago, and bought these:

They have held up well over 150+ runs without ANY issues. This is just bashing, running in the backyard, some jumps, and mostly grass runs. BUT for $16, I'd highly recommend them.

Consider this: buy a set of these cheap shocks, install almost instantly vs. buying a rebuild kit that takes over an hour to do on your old shocks.

Big Bores are the shock of choice for the vast majority of users here on the forum for a very good reason. They are an excellent balance of performance, strength and price. For about $40-50 you get all 4 shocks with aluminum caps and the TiNi shafts. Fill them with 40-50wt oil and use your original springs and you'll have a super smooth, durable setup that didnt cost a fortune. They aren't threaded but many prefer the spring spacers anyway as they don't rattle loose. Once they are on you know nothing will change.
