Ive always wanted to try it. Cut a section out of one chassis and place it it between a cut on another chassis. And there's plenty of material to work with as far as bracing is concerned. Id say go for it. Most anybody with an extended chassis would love to have the composite version.

Sure, you can do anything you want. You just need to make sure WHERE they are connected and HOW they are connected is STRONG...

There have been lots of guys who have cut one chassis in half and added metal in the middle to extend. Its not the best looking method but it works.

HA....I was thinking the same thing. LOL

I'd go the pave rout and split a single chassis and bolt down a chunk of aluminum, lexan, or plexi. This will keep it from looking so much Frankenpedish.......

I would cut one chassis toward the front, and the other toward the rear making absolutely sure they are cut straight across and up and down. Use the chassis that is cut at the rear for the front half and the one cut toward the front for the rear half. This way, you only have one joint to mend together.

if you look at my newer pics of the hummpede i did a 25mm extension with the rear-most part of the chassis.

the little square part that is behind where the "battery box" is and where the RX and ESC is above is what i used. all i did was cut off the nubs that hold the origional chassis to the rear tower and used a pair of nuts and bolts to connect it to the "little square section" cut from another section. you gotta drill 2 new holes for the skid plate arms to mount 25mm back and use red loctite on your nuts and bolts. mine hasnt failed in 6 months! (knock on wood)

    Good luck,

Make sure you take plenty of pics during the build so you can post em.
