Xmas Platinum Finally Ready to Drive

My wife and my folks got me a Slash 4x4 Platinum for Xmas. Four months later the snow is finally gone and I finally painted up the body.

Truck has not been run yet. I've upgraded the motor mount to a King Headz unit, installed the center diff, and have the optional set of JConcepts wheels w/Pro-Line Trenchers. I may swap out the Velineon system with the fairly new CC Sidewinder SCT system that's in my 2WD Slash.

Thanks, but I'm not new to RC or Traxxas. My first was a T-Maxx about 11 years ago which started the addiction. I've had several Traxxas products since then and currently have this 4x4 Slash as well as a 2WD Slash.

Logos, number, and stripes are all paint. Bed, number plates, windows, headlights and grille are stock decals.

That's a great looking car ! I want to buy a Platinum body and do something in a desert/Humvee kinda' theme w/a .50 in the back with ammo cans, etc...

does the sidewinder system have enough power for the 4x4?

It depends on what you plan on running. Do you have 2 or 3s lipos? How fast do you want to go? I know the MMP is way better.

That's a great paint job. The problem is you did it on the stock platinum body which, in heavy bashing, will last about 5 sessions before being torn to shreds! I'd buy a proline or J-concepts and paint that up to bash with. Save the Ruger for the shelf!

Thanks for your concern. I don't know what you consider heavy bashing, but my stock Slash bodies have held up fine in the past to most anything that I put them through. Any damage can usually be repaired with some Shoe Goo. I'n not into roof jumping, skate parks, or anything of that sort. When the time comes, I'll simply paint up a new body.

A new PL body would have been nice, but the money was better spent going towards a new Ruger.
