why does it go in 2wd??????

I just put in my front MIP axles and when i tested them to check if their all right. My rc goes into 2wd, like if i hold it up and hit the throttle my back wheels go fine but my front try to catch up with the back, and when they do catch up i brake and the back wheels stop and the fronts don't, so it doesn't stop very well. Its been doing this before i got the MIP's.
whats wrong with it?
Is it okay to still ride it or would it be bad for it?
It sounds like this clicking sound too when i hit the brakes, like it clicks instead of my front tires stopping.
I have the vxl system, stock gearing.
Everything is stock except rear bumper, nerf bars and front MIP's.

Sounds like your front diff is stripped.

I think you need to look for a stripped wheel hex. I have never seen or heard of anyone stripping the diff gears. Either look at the front drive hub TRA6888.

well if thats the thing thats connected to the center driveline in the front of it thats not stripped.
Could it be sand grinding it up so it wont move very well

I think its the diff.To find out if its the front diff remove the centre drive(the blue thing down the middle) put it back together and see does it click again.My rear diff went and thats how I found out the problem.

Sounds like wheel hexes as stated. Take off your wheels and look.
Diff is short for differential.

Yeap, check the wheel hexes ..... I stripped one and was like ... WTH? Then I found it spun freely. I fixed it with JB weld. I used a old hex cap to mold the weld to the stripped wheel area and wha-lah, fixed!

If youre running the center diff and have a bunch of sand grinding in the front diff keeping it from spinning freely then the power will try to goto the rear end. But like everyone else recommended first check the hexes part # 1654 on the "front assembly" page of you parts book. Then look into opening up the fron diff - for that check out page 27 of your owners manual. These books have helped me a ton navigating around the truck and troubleshooting stuff.

Okay i checked the front diff and i got some sand out. so i picked it up hit the throttle and the wheels still try to catch up. So then i checked the wheel hex and it was not stripped.(if the wheel hex is the bolt plastic type thing then its fine).So no more clicking but still not all 4wd.
Could it be something with my slipper(i don't really know what that is but i heard people talking about before) if so would tightening it help to make it 4wd or loosening it?

Do you have a center diff installed in this truck? The slipper isn't going to do this. Maybe also pull the plastic hexes of and see if the cross pins are broke.

I don't know if i have the center diff installed its what ever it came with stock. The pins aren't broke.
Could it be my center driveline because its not so much the wheels but the center driveline tries to catch up but the front wheels go off the center driveline so maybe its that?

Did you check your rear drive hub when you checked your front ? Is the set screw tight in the rear drive hub ?

That was it bentrocker thanks! I just needed to tighten the screw i feel so dumb.

Hey it happens. I wouldn't have thought of it unless EL SOB hadn't mentioned the front one I haven't had my 4x4 for over a year.

That's why I always say," We are here to help!!!" I am soo happy that you found a solution to your problem! Good job guys on coming up with new ideas until we got the problem solved! I recommend putting loctite or glue on that grub screw. It can be a pesky little thing. I had forgotten the days when I couldn't keep mine tight.

When I used to have my slash that happened to me a couple times. I believe I cured it with ca glue.

Which part is the rear drive hub, because my slash is still doing the same thing....
