find hereunder the last updates and mods on my E-jato:
1 First of all, I was fedup with the too low ride height due to my carbon homemade shock tower. This shock tower offers 1,5mm higher fixing points for shocks compared to stock tower. This is perfect for asphalt speed runs, but not for bashing.
According to this, I’ve created a new shock tower with 4mm 7075 aluminium plate, offering 1,5mm:
Result: Ride height is perfect for off road slopes and with some adjustment of the rings, it is perfect for bashing. Moreover, it will be hard to bend this plate!.
Finally, this new shock tower offers 4 fixing points on the transmission case instead of 2 for the stock one = no problem of transmission case break!
2 One detail : I was fedup with my rx box always moving on my chassis. I decided to fix it strongly!:
Result: nothing is moving!
3 One point was getting on my nerves : my home made motor plate (made with an aluminium angle of 5mm) was very good, except that i twas not perfectly aligned with transmission primary shaft…
I decided to create a new one besed on an E-maxx brushless motor plate, cut and drilled to fit the transmission case of my jato:
Result: perfect alignement and decrease of weight. I just have to desanodise this plate for the look.
4 One mod that I was thinking about since long time : to add anti roll bar to my jato while RPM A-arms and front bumper installed…
I finally decided to change the bumper for a Tbone Racing one. This is allowing me to fix the bar to the chassis.
I drilled the A-arms, and it is done!:
Result: It is working perfectly. Tbone racing bumper isn’t very beautiful but it is protecting as well as RPM one.
5 I also installed the Tbone Racing wheely bar. Tbone racing had been friendly and drilled (as asked by myself) the wheely bar in 3mm instead of 5-40. This is permitting me to install the traxxas red hop up wheels. :
Result: This wheely bar add stability while wheeling and the traxxas wheels are turning and lasting better than stock Tbone ones.
6 As the fan of my Mamba Max Pro is dead, I decided to change the system for a more efficient cooling of my ESC.
I created a little plate with 2mm aluminium, fixed to the front top plate of the jato, and supporting a 25mm Novak fan. I also use the original plug of the CC fan + a JR plug in order to be able to use any fan and also to have the benefit of the automatic start of the fan with the ESC:
Résultat: My ESC is better cooled without the fan case and the novak fan is blowing correctly to maintain the temp..
7 Finally, as the velineon was heating a bit too much in my opinion, I changed for a tenshock SC401 :
Result: It is perfect ! no heat, good punch!
A bientôt for a vid !
