those guys are awesome
I must have these! Now to figure out how to order, as I do not speak German.
I wonder if the gears are made to use only in their diff case and/or if they would provide a noticeable improvement over stock gears in a stock case.
I bet the whole diff case/gear combo for front and rear will cost almost $200... if not more after shipping. Thats a LOT of money. But worth it if you blow diffs left and right.
Pede, Summit,
ERBE, Rally,
Motley Crew, 1SQ
$200, is that for both diffs, or just one complete? If for one, not so bad, but $400 for just a diff upgrade? too much maybe.
The aluminum diff cups run approx $145 USD for a pair. That does not include the hardened gears.
ERBE, Summit, Thunder Tiger MT4
They dont know how much the hardened gears are going to be yet. They are going to be testing the hardened gears for a couple weeks to make sure there are no problems with the gears.
I am extremely happy with the cups
Haven't blown one up yet.i spent that on diffs and rebuilds easily. My truck has a lot of miles on it....hard miles I might add. Lol

awww man it been how long mikey560 and i still havent got those aluminum diffs in my summit yet lol i think december or sometime in around there
and i need more dusty expensive parts that im to cheap to put in my summit lol
sorry guys im just having one of thoese luaghting moments
so mikey are you going to be selling these gears to just like the diffs?
jamann, i just ordered the cups. did you have to shim them or run everything stock? i just paid over $50 bucks to do a complete rear diff rebuild cause i didn't want to b down waiting for cups. also noticed sometimes my summit doesn't shift out of lock so I'm not going to trust it anymore an will test the wheels for slip before bashing!
I did not shim mine.I packed mine with marine grade bearing grease. I'm surrounded by the pacific ocean.

aka lumax from canadian tire lol
but are there eny up dates as of yet?
I dont think so I was told it will be a while for testing to make sure they hold up and if there are no problems when testing then they will begin to make more. The thing is the hardening process takes a while I think he said 4-6 weeks so I dont think we will be see these anytime soon.
It's a little strange that they even have pics up seeing as they are still testing them, guess they wanted to see if it would get people talking to gauge their interest. I hope they hold up I would love to have a stronger option then the stock gears.
ya dont make a gell with it(greas and a ratio of 3 in 1 oil) smells like burnt rubber or something close
Well I don't see much buzz about hardened gears anymore and its been a long time since anyone has posted here even. But I am onto something... I am currently testing some hardened steel spiders. The only problem I am having at the moment is table slop. My equipment is 40 years old and I can't machine as consistent tolerances as I'd like. Some gears come out perfect, some need up to .06 shim. If everything goes well with testing in my Summit I will let everyone know. So far so good with 1 week of running, about 14 sets of Kershaw Designs 7000mah 2S lipos on a 14.4v Dewalt with weighted 40 series axial 8 spoke beadlocks and cut mudslingers. I know it's not the power of brushless but I am beating it severly. I even bought 4 short tubes and 4 long tubes for this testing period and have broken one each so far. This first weeks tear down revealed nothing wearing prematurely. Here are a couple side by side pics of the stock and broken spiders and the new hardened ones.

If this proves to work it can be had with no more than $20 per pair in materials!!!I'll post again after next weeks teardown and keep everyone updated.
Wonder what this set at the bottom of the page on the far right costs. Custom made for customer.
Complete differential of high strength aircraft aluminum AL 7075 for the model TRACKSAU, or something like that made for a Summit. That would almost be indestructible if made and set up right.
