could you buy only upgraded parts and build a slash from the ground up. If thinking there are no upgrades for diff cases.

yeah diff cases and bulkeads, but everything else, i think. The bulkheads would be replaced if you bought the rce LCG chassis
Slash 4x4 2200kv MMM
Rusty 2400k MMP
Venom Lipos
you could come real close, some revo parts too. that would be sweet and you would probably save money doing it that way rather than starting stock. i wish that i wouldnt have gotten the ultimate i have replaced most of the ultimate parts.
the real question is, could you really call it a Slash then?
it would just be a custom built 4x4 RC with only a few Slash parts on it
fix, run, break, repeat
Been there done that got the Tshirt. Built mine part by part off ebay and some from online stores.
Still have a lot of stock but it is built the way I want it.
Was fun doing it, just about as fun as running it. I do enjoy the long night tare downs.

You very well could, and if your a skilled rc hobbyist, I would encourage it. You could build a real beast of a truck this way. Revo parts/lcg chassis/tekin or castle power. This is what most of us end up doing anyway, just not all at once. Lol
Snowstorm, I assume you mean alike all upgrade or aftermarket parts and yeah. I think I agree with cage410, there is probably an aftermarket part for everything except the diff cups.
Yes you can and I did. The only thing you need is the front and rear diffs

gumleguf has the right idea and id say its safe to call it a slash still because as long as u keep the slash shell on the chassis its a slash!!!
