E-Revo Gears Frustration (Nothing about gearing...)

Okay, this isn't some noob question like asking what gearing I should use, but something else that's annoying. I have my ERBE geared to 24/54 and I took it out yesterday in my backyard and it stopped. This was because the gears like separated and I had to push the motor over onto the spur gear. It made that buzzing sound when the gears are not touching. "Bzzzzz Bzzzzzz" Now this was only on 4s so I'm kinda scared to throw in my 3s lipos haha. It's not a big deal, but certainly is a major annoyance. Has this happened to any of you guys??? It happened like 4 times to me lol. Am I doing something wrong??
    Thanks

I think your single motor mount screw is loosening.

It is a steel bolt inside of an aluminum motor mount so try some blue loctite.

Also the motor mount hinge mod would help IMO.

My motor screw has loosened up on me once, and I know the sound you've described. +1 on the blue loctite and wrench it down. The other problem I've had is the grub screw in the pinion gear that has loosened up and caused basically the same issue. Again, more blue loctite...

Yea it didn't strip the spur thank gosh haha. I think I might try out that motor mount hinge mod. It might help prevent it from coming loose. I'll try it out on 6s soon and see what happens. (hopefully nothing bad lol) I'll upload some pics soon because I upgraded my E-Revo and it looks really nice! Thanks anr2442 and 87 GN for responding so quickly

Why are you gearing for over 55mph on 4S and over 80mph on 6S?
    Are speed runs your thing?
I know they're having their break there by your brake drums. No, you're not invited.

I only geared it like this temporarily just to see how much speed I can get. I'm going to change the pinion to a smaller one because the temps on my esc are a bit high. I do have a motor fan though so no issues so at with that. I'll probably bring it down to like 18/54. Better to be safe than sorry haha

All good. Nothing wrong with speed runs, whether a temporary or full-time exercise. I was simply curious.

Ok I might just go to my local hobby store and get a 20t pinion. Thanks for the advice

I finally got my 20t pinion a couple days ago, but haven't gotten a chance to put the truck back together after the catastrophic failure I had with the rear body mount on Sunday... LOL! I'm excited to test it out and continue to push the limits. Temps have been around 150F with 18/50. I also got a motor fan with the new pinion, and I actually vented my new body so I should be able to keep them under control.

Now I just need the tire balancer to arrive so I can get rid of the wobbles so everything doesn't vibrate loose...

you are so lucky, I stripped 3 spurs already ^^
but for me the problem was a the pinion that got loose. The hobby shop guy told me it's because I have an aluminum pinion (castle pinion) which gets to squishy under high temps. I ordered an 21t steel pinion now and get rid of the problem hopefully.

Yea I had that same problem but I just put some locktite on the screw that holds the pinion on and I have not had a problem since. (knocking on wood) lol

didn't help me though ^^ I think it also could be because the set screw was so small, but whatever, tomorrow I'm expecting the new delivery together with some sweet road rage tires on Axial 8 Spokes yeah

when tighting the set screw on the pinion you need a small amount of blue loctite, a good tip on your allen wrench, & tighten the "star*s" out of it.

Yea it worked like a charm for me. Locktite is the best, especially for the aluminum I have on my e-revo
