    This might be awesome...

At least for those who don't have to pay for it. I was at the hobby shop and I saw a mini summit on the counter decked with upgrades. I know nothing about the minis but it looked cool. Guys said he's gonna put in a Mamba monster 2200kv for the owner. So how bad of an idea is this exactly?

I see broken parts... and lots of trips to that hobby shop.

I don't think it is possible to fit that motor in there. Can't even imagine the suspension would even function properly.

I had thought all of those things as well. I told the guy running the shop it probably wouldn't fit (even though I admit to having little knowledge of the mini) but he insisted it would. Just goes to show not all hobby shops will steer you in the right direction. I hope for that guy it doesn't explode but it seems like he's putting a drag motor in a Geo to me.

I have seen a while back a MERV on Ebay(posted here on the forums somewhere) almost totally metal with the MMM ESC and motor installed. The guys was crazy and wanted like 3K for it. It was good laugh. Even if all the moving part held together there is still the fact that metal partsd crimple like paper when hitting something at 40MPH. Terrible idea.

lol it was probably this guy, from the looks of it it was all aluminum. credit where it is due it really does look sweet but ive got an mmm and from the performance side wow..in a 1/10 emaxx, 1/16 summit though? looking at it the stock vxl almost touches the shock mount in the rear does it not? im going to do some follow up on this for sure because i am curious at least how its gonna be done.

Still can't understand how they would find springs to support the weight of that motor. I can imagine the chassis roll it would have in a corner. Although it would look cool on the shelf to display your mamba monster.

Its basically just a stupid idea. There are absolutely NO good reasons to do this and a LONG list of great reasons not to.

There are things that you can do to a vehicle that don't make sense but ARE cool in their own way. This isnt... its just silly and pointless. Even to show it off and say "look what i did" isnt impressive. I agree totally that its even more proof that many hobby shops don't give good advice.
