THE Power of the 2400 on 3s

Man!! I tell ya this hobby is some much but it sucks when you break a part.
Did some crasy bashing yesterday [FRI] and split my MIPs Spline bone right
in half yes the steel axels holy smokes. so i odered an another spline
bone i understand MIP has an awesome warrenty but i cant wait so i went to
my LHS to get the replacement axels for the time being untill the replacments
come in. Put them on first thing this morning went out and not even 10mins
into the 2nd 3s and POP goes the Yoke on the replacement axel.
WOW the 2400 has some major force behind it. RC code says no Pictures no proof
    so here you go guys.

holy crap, split it like a piece of fire wood, LOL

never seen that happen to an MIP before, good job on that!

if I can demolish two Technos on just 2s with the stock Velineon system, I could only imagine what that Castle motor would do to them on 3s, lol. I love my MIP's; so freek'n beefy!

I've been running the 2400 on 3s and 4s with techno shafts front and rear with no issues. I drive it like an idiot on a regular basis so I know they can take it.

About to contact Matt @ Mip talked to him earlier in the week about another issue i was having
he sounds like a cool guy. Well the day is almost gone about to sneak over to the golf course
To do some bashing maybe i can break another yoke. LoL was at ford Howard park for an easter
Picnic took out my slash for some more crazy bashing before i knew it i had a crowd behind me
watching me tearing up leaves, twigs, moss and dirt. They were all amazed on how fast it went
And how well it took the wipe outs. i gave 4 people phone numbers on where to get there Slash 4x4
Hopefully we will have some new members to our Family.
Wish me luck on the Green lol

So i Didnt break any axels this time but i sure did wipeout bad. On the green there are
these 2inch square sticks that mark off where you tee off at the next hole. Well as im full
throttle hitting the this huge mound i get some major air as i was coming down for a landing
i didnt see the stick sticking up and before i could hit the brakes SLAM... SNAPPED that
2 inch stick in half WHAT!!!!!! LOL Did some flips and cartwheels but landed of all fours
so a drove it back to me and noticed the Damage.. IF your not breaking stuff your not playing
with it right... I busted the bed of the truck from the cab of the truck
basically i just SPLIT the truck in RIGHT in HALF when i snapped that stick in TWO...
i should of crabbed the stick too but i saw a golf cart coming my way so i Have to GOOOO..
    LOL

Everyone talking Tekno this and that. Good for you! I have had Mip X-Duty axles for well over a year! I have had great luck with them. I broke my first axle last week, called Mat and I already have the replacement in my hand! So it took over a year to break a part! Nothing else has broken or come loose. Nothing has ever popped out of a cup. Haven't bent anything. I am very proud to represent Mip! I have their axles on both of my Slash 4x4's! Both of them have the Castle 2400 motors in them. I still recommend them to anyone who is tired of breaking stock axles. It took over a year to break something and it was replaced for free and I didn't have to send the broken part in! I for one am a Mip customer for life

No reason to be hating on the Teknos. Some people like their simplicity, others like to to stick elongated fire hydrant replicas on their trucks. Just joshing w/ you.
I honestly do get concerned with the amount of reports of MIP axles breaking. Th excuse I've heard that MIP reps give, "They were hardened incorrectly" doesn't do much to assuage my uneasiness. But they seem to stand behind their product and that is important.
I chose Teknos by appearance and cost once I understood from a couple experienced members that they both worked well.
I know they're having their break there by your brake drums. No, you're not invited.

i will say this matt from mip is a good guy and will replace anything that breaks or bends but so will tekno and there about 2 pounds lighter then the mips and the teknos are just as strong

I wasn't trying to bad mouth the Tekno parts. That wasn't my intent at all. If you have them and they work well for you I am happy you found something that is holding up to your needs. I was just making a statement. If I came off offensive to anyone, I am sorry. I am just trying to say that I used to break the stock axles at least once every two weeks. I bought Mip X-Duty axles and it took over a year to break a part on them. I am very satisfied with what I bought. If you have Tekno axles and have had the same feeling and experiences, that is also a wonderful thing. The real question we should all be asking is when are the axles that have been promised to us, since before the Slash 4x4 has been released. When are they going to be available for the public to buy? We may not all be having these conversations about which aftermarket part is better if we had the upgraded parts from the manufacturer to begin with.
I know we can go to eBay chop shops and modify axles.for a Traxxas model that is very similar to the Slash 4x4. I for one would have liked to have the option of buying the upgraded part from Traxxas that was advertised on the website for the model. Oh well. Until they are released we will have to do what we can to try and make our trucks as reliable as we are given parts to do so.

I don't think anybody would take exception to El Sob's post. I was kidding him about it.
As I said earlier, BOTH aftermarket options work well for many people. MIPs seem to be the more popular choice overall and may be the only choice for vehicles jacked up high. Therefore some of us (ahem, me) with Teknos have a bit of an underdog complex.
Choices are good. Let's be glad we have them and look forward to the day when Traxxas's own option is available.
I know they're having their break there by your brake drums. No, you're not invited.

ksb51rl, i believe because it seems that more people have Mip X-Duty axles is part of the reason of why we hear of the problems people are having problems with them. The more product you sell, the more you will hear of problems. As for me, I don't jump my truck off roofs or take 50 ft jumps. I bash mine good but don't do outlandish things either. One of the main reasons I went with the X-Duty axles is because you can have any ride hight you want. I know with the Tekno axles you cannot have your suspention at extreme angles. From what I have seen on my friends trucks, that is when the dog bones fall out. I experienced one friend loose at least three bones in a bash session. We looked for them but they were nowhere to be found. That had a huge influence on me when I decided to buy a set of aftermarket axles. As I said, and wasn't trying to be sarcastic about it. If you are happy with your Tekno axles, good for you. Jon, its too bad I don't live close to you, I would have gladly bought your front and rear set for $70.00! I personally can't take that much of a loss on something after having it for short time. Everyone is different. Well I think I am getting off my soap box. Lets all go out and enjoy our trucks to the fullest!!!!

I snapped my FastLaneMachine axle on my 1st run but haven't have a problem with the replacement (bought 2 sets) I installed and I beat the ever livin snot out my truck.

The 2400 is a parts breaker thats for sure ...... throttle control is more important that anything else.

I sure hope my new Ofna Hyper 10SC (track use only) holds up as well as my ultimate.

It doesn't matter what brand you get it WILL BREAK sooner or later. If a product
Works good for you great but every once in awhile you will get a defected item
So what... Your the one who made that decision to get that product.
its the Quality of a product that makes it good but IMO its the customer service /
warranty / replacement time that makes you Loyal to THAT product.

I agree completely! That is one big reason I stay with Traxxas! Traxxas, Mip, Venom and Castle Creations have extraordinarily great customer service! I love it when a company stands behind their product! That makes me stand behind and shout about their product. To me you could have the best product that has ever been invented but if your customer service is lacking, you are going to loose a whole lot of business.
