    lcg durability

it is my understanding from people say that lcg slashs are less durable cause of lower center of gravity. im gonna get one here soon cause my slash will handle better but i dont want the durability to go down. so what i will do so that the chassis wont take such a beating is jack up the suspension with a few spacers in each shock and put some monster truck wheels and tires from maybe a stampede on. im assuming this will raise my center of gravity a bit but will be close to stock so i can bash. then put my race tires n wheels back on and remove the spacers when i go to the track. does this make sense? ive seen slashs with stampede wheels n tires and it looks pretty kool.

don`t know why you would get a lcg setup if you are going to bash only . i`d keep the stock one if i where you . you could put that money towards better suspension . your money your call .

im not just gonna bash only. i want it to handle better for the track and roll less. an lcg kit will do that. i just like to bash sometimes too.

My slice chassis has been super durable. Whats the point of getting a lcg chassis just to jack it back up with monster tires? Not bashing you, just confused...

I think I see your point redlight: you want to have a truck to bash using big tires, but then you also want to race it on weekends with your racing tires. A lot of guys will have two trucks, one for bashing and one for the track, so this makes sense if you're on a budget.

The only downside would be the abuse taken during bashing might throw your racing setup out of whack so your lap times might suffer. You might need to rebuild your shocks more often than if you had a dedicated racing truck.

I have the STRC lcog upgrade on one of my slashes and I see the benefit for a basher as well as for racing.

I cant understand why people would say less durable or keep the higher slash chassis for bashing. the front bulkhead and tranny are the same height off the ground on standard or lcg so height isnt any different.

As far as durability goes I converted 2 rustlers with the STRC LCG kits to Slash's and last weekend my son and I were jumping at least 12 feet in the air and not landing very well at all in the yard, we had one broken RPM bearing carrier and some body damage. That's it, I would say they are very durable! They do well on the track too but we dont race.

We dont bash like that all the time, usually just road racing each other.
