    spur gear question

ok guys, i bought my slayer pro used, dont know the spur gear size off hand but i do know that its big enough to hit my air intake tube and makes it a royal paint to take the filter off the carb or to reinstall it as well. i was wondering if anyone has this problem with stock gearing?

if not i might have to take it apart and count all my teeth and regear this thing.

I have the same problem, but I never take the rubber part off the carburetor unless I pull the engine.
Just spray or drop oil through the rubber intake duct to 'after-run-lube' the engine.

Yeah my Revo and Slayer are the same thing... it's a pain in the butt.
The stock gearing is 36 teeth I think, my Revo stock is a 38.
I just put one side on then smash the bottom and hope drops into place. lol

36T is standard on the Slayer, 38T on the Revo. Even on my Revo there is a decent amount of distance between the spur gear and the intake tube. If you are having problems it is best to verify the chassis is straight or not.

You may have a bent chassis or cracked motor mount.
I wanted to put a really cool signature but I ran

from what i can tell theres not damage anywhere at all. and i dont think it would be a matter of being bent or anything. its just like the spur gear is to tall and if it was just a hair smaller it wouldnt hit. and we all know that the rubber isnt that thick for the intake tube itself and its not even going through that. it just annoys me more than anything. because usually when i do my after run procedures i put drops down the plug and i pull the intake tube off and do drops directly down the carb so i can lube everything up on it and watch it happen. ill try and get a pic of it up if i can where its rubbing though, might have to mark the spur and count teeth so i dont have to pull my engine or anything lol, im lazy

yup, dont even care lol, i havent been running either of my rc's much for the reason that i dont have a spot here at my house to do it exactly and ive been to broke to go somewhere else. well now that im starting to work on monday ill have money for gas to go to the decent bashing spots and run them.

i guess ill care more when im using them on a regular basis vs. every couple of weeks for like 3 tanks of fuel lol

No need to count because the tooth count should be molded onto the spur gear.

thats true.......... but i was thinking it was covered up and not visible when mounted on the car for some reason or another. i was going to count so i wouldnt have to move or remove anything to see the molding.
