Wink I think I found somthing Great...

Hey guys I was going through my dad's garage last night (yes, my dad's I'm 15) looking for wd-40 and I found a can of "fogging oil". It says on the can "put in engines during storage to prevent corrosion, works for 2 stroke and 4 stroke." I asked my dad what it's used for and he said he uses it in our boat to prevent rust and corrsion from getting to to the boat's carb and cylinders. Basicaly it's what he uses to "winterize" the boat for storage. (We live in utah so we need to do this) After reading this it got me thinking... Can it be used as an after run oil for nitro rc's? If so, that would be GREAT, because we have 4 spay cans of the stuff and it only costs $1.50 a can. Does anyone know if this can be used as a after run oil? (maybe even a air filter oil?) I will be gratfull for any help and adivse. THANKS! -Wolfslash16

It won't work for air filter oil but for preventing corrosion in the cylinder it should work.
I would make sure it doesn't have any extremely harsh chemicals though because there is a chance that it could damage your O-ring seals. Check it out and give it a try, sounds promising
    What's the brand? Sea-foam?

THe brand is Sta-Bil. (I think that's spelled right) The ingredients are petroleum oils, butane and propane. I assume thoses aren't harsh chemicals, right? I don't know. PS I wish the brand was Sea Foam. That would be cool.

Nitro RC fuel is Hygroscopic, it attracts water. One thing you want is something that will protect your engine from rust and keep moisture from causing your steel internals to rust.

I know that WD-40, Marvel Mystery oil, and After Run oils, do this... As far as the product Sta-bil,,, I have no clue....

Since I don;t earn a huge salary, I am not going to experiment with my $150.00 engine or any of my engines.. Can't afford to.
