did have prob this afternoon as i was mounting the parts on the Merv
when i was done and tested it the motor did turn in the wrong direction so full throttle forward was backwards
and back was forward
did have a hard time figure out what and why >>>> ???????
but reverse the setting of the throttle on the radio and now its all cool
maybe with the experriment and not knowing with the servo i did change the throttle settings
work a lot of hours today to correct all the stuff and test it and hope the rain will stay away this weekend
so i can testdrive it and have some fun!

Bizarre, did you change the wiring to the motor connections? like reverse 2 of the 3 or something?? See if you now have a higher speed in reverse. Maybe you are going to want to do your speed runs in reverse only (you have a gyro now, so should be easy pesy right??)
I had to change 2 wires on every MMP combo I use. I agree with the other options will make you go faster in reverse than forward.

seems to me that doesnt matter since the castle link was set 100% forward & 100% reverse
you guys have 50% backwards set in your set up! ???????
BTW wich wires you did you guys change ?????

I'm running 50% reverse, but I'm a basher. I don't think it matters which wires you switch, just pick two and see if it changes how fast your forward is to your reverse.
If you do find it is faster in reverse please take a video of a reverse speed run for me!!!

9. I’ve calibrated, but the car goes backwards with forward throttle.
Make sure the green LED is showing when you give forward throttle. If it is, then just swap any two of the ESC to motor wires to reverse the rotation direction of the motor.
If the ESC shows the red LED with forward throttle, you will need to reverse your throttle channel on your transmitter (via a micro switch, or within the programming of the radio) and recalibrate.

Look at it this way: Cut a triangle shaped piece of paper and lay it down on the table. If you swap any pair of the corners of the triangle, you will see that you have to put the triangle upside down to do that. It doesnt matter which pair you swap.
Things like brake strength, timing, and other directional stuff might get mixed up if you use the TX to change the direction. Just swap any pair of the wires and you will be fine.

HMMMMM did checked all today !!!
update = did test the whole system this afternoon and you guys were right
indeed the led was forward turning red and backwards green
so
i did set the transmitter to default again so the reverse stuff was gone
then i tested it and servo and motor turn the wrong way
then switched the wires white and black and tested the throttle and WHOOOOOOOO turned the good way forward and backwards
and the led turn green forward and red backwards
BIGTIME TX FOR THE HELPING HAND GUYS -> YOU ROCK

problem 1 : the new servo was not fitting and has to do with the wires which are on the side and the stock is wired on top
so had to pull of the top of the servo to get it in !!!

the stock do not fit so i could order a losi arm or a other brand and wait another week
i decided to go for custom with the stuff that came with the servo
and again MR DREMEL became my good friend that day !!
still ruff but it already fitted here

the servo was in reverse so did search a lot of movies on the tube and downloaded a very nice PDF file
also noticed that the motor was turning reverse to i thought to be clever and also reverse the setting on the transmitter
which is above reply : its not working that way
one last time at the castle link to check
and now some last minor details like rerouting wires and then ready to roll
still i dont get it why you take a caste motor with red white and black threath and a ESC from the same brand also with a white , red and black threath and hoke it up on the corect colors and it dont work the right way !!!

The servo will actually squeeze in there without taking it apart! Check out hitec 55701 aluminum horn

No kidding! You will have to shorten it but with that work station no problem!
You can also make a longer link from the horn to the steering arm out of two end links and a threaded 2mm stud cut from a long bolt.I can send a pic later

I dont get why you have such a hard time with steering reversing.

i know and i am not the brightest on the planet!!!!
But
keep in mind that i started this hobby in early 2012 feb
so i do this rc stuff for 6 months now and i know i am not as far as you guys with stuff
also i am trying to learn and read as much as possible on the internet on the merv.
did see obout every rc topic on the tube and do read this forum every day (almost every topic)
the mechanikal stuff is not a prob for me as working many years in the garage as a car mechanik and done lots of tuning projects with showcars
but the fine tuning and tweak things i must grow into.
also i do think that doing BB an other esc , much GPM alu , other wheels & tires and starting right away with dual 3 s lipo in 5 months is insane enough to show that i am taking thehobby serious.
also you guys mut admit that i am taken every tip and advise serious from you.
i know my place as a rookie.
i do know there is lots of stuff i dont know S-word about it but will be eager to learn that!!!
also always got much respect for other PPL and there projects , no matter how stock their merv is or if the doing bashing what peronal dont do !!!
i learned its all about respect and enjoy others their pasion too !!

update did gie it a run this morning and whooooo the MMP is way insane.
did manage to start the fan after two dual sets 3s lipo HAHAHahaha
i did get a bad feeling the first two seconds when hearing a weird noise
another thing is that i broke another GPM rod and man i neer buy that crap again.
and i dont reccoment them to anyone also , all other stuff from them rocks but the rods is the biggest crap i eer bought

yep ! i am gonna do the Traxxas TRX red ones now!!!!
the alu is not the prob but the rod ends keep breaking on the gpm ones
will post a pix of them
also made two insane speedruns movies today , 1 of them with the merv is coming lose from the road and first wheel a few yards and you see it come lose but i release the throttle at that point.
i think it also a reason why the GPM rods break to much force on them with the speed runs.
i did mount the stock plastic ones on the rear again who survived many runs and crashes and still are good

that sounds good! my traxxas aluminum has put up with a lot of abuse even through 3 bent and tore out cvds!
Amazing that you break so many rod ends. I broke 5 since I use them (for way over a year now).

not a single broken traxxas rod end buy i have new ones that have play in them even with new steel hallow balls
SUPERB i do see a e mail that the foam tires are on there way to my home !!!!
@ the good guys here !!! i broke 2 now in two weeks and 2 times diving
i dont understand it and its always on the rear , the front ones are holding up fine!
i did notice that with speed and drive hard the rear is pushed a lot toward the road
maybe it has something to do with that and the force on the rear ????????
anyhow i mounted 2 stock traxxas ones on the rear now and hope they will hold untill
i found another solution
