    I have a question about the MMP 2400. I just installed one in my Slash 4x4 and geared 17/54 on 4s. Before 1/2 throttle it shutters violently and you can hear the drivetrain almost snap. I put it up on the stand and the wheels actually stop almost like you are hitting reverse for a short burst. I have tried 4 quality batteries from 2s to 4s. I have read it might be the servo drawing too much power. I am gonna swap out my servo today and see. I was just wondering what any bodies thoughts were regarding this issue.

    UPDATE: driving my truck today, my usual setup, and i soon here a noise like something was stuck in the center driveshaft, nope. So i took the truck apart, look at the slipper and found out that a tooth was missung form the spur, has loosing a tooth in the spur happen to anyone?

    TraxxasFTW,

    Thanks for the input. It is not the shafts. I have been driving this truck for a year like it is with a velineon setup with no issues. The only thing that has changed is the MMP setup.

    i cannot order the snappy esc mount , they dont ship to canada.
    Traxxas Mamba Monster ESC Mounting Plate TRA5626 , will this work instead ?

    Has any one else had a problem with the mip drive shafts using the hpi pins. when running 3s on this combo with my mt setup i have severely bent 3 hpi pins. and broke 2.
    Man i need more than 50 characters.

    its a rustler/stampede rec box ( 3628: traxxas part number) http://buy.traxxas.com/default.php?c...691_6699_11441 i also heard that you dont really have to move your rec box i am not one of them maybe others will chime in. i will eventually will try that set up to see if it fits.

    Yes, Larger hexes are better for anything. and youll have a larger selection of rims and tires.

    what tires are the best? i run street, and thats it, i do high speed runs.

    Do you guys really need to upgrade the drive shafts on 3's with the 2400kv? I would think if the slipper wasnt to tight it wouldnt be an issue. I am looking for 2 new trucks and I have been thinking about upgrading to the 4x4 Slash over my 2wd STRC LCG Slash's. It may be cheaper just to go with an 1/8 scale buggy if I have to put a lot in to them.

    On 3s a 2400 motor will roast a slipper if its not tight enough.
    Man i need more than 50 characters.

    it happened to me, i recommend upgrading to the revo slipper with aluminum pads

    Oh ive got the revo slipper and aluminum hd pads. If my slippers not on the tight side it will spin on 3s

    has anyone ran into having to switch the red and white wires on the motor to get it to run in the right direction? Also just finally got to run my 2400 combo and man its awesome i got a 21/50 in it now anything else i can do to get more without going to the 4s cuz i have 3s now?

    Yes, my wires are switched. I believe you can also reverse the direction with the radio.

    thats what i did at first but then decided to try the wires and it made a bigger difference so i reset my controller to factory and then changed my gearing from 13/52 to 21/50 and its awesome just want more now without buying the 4s lipos

    if you want speed, go 25/50 on 4s, 80+mph

    Just 2's and MMP 3800 combos for now TraxxasFTW, i was thinking of 3's in the 4x4, i dont need or want 80mph, if I went 4's I would go 1/8 Scale Buggy/Truggy or MT first..

    I forgot the 4x4 doesnt do slippers like a 2wd, the rollers I am looking at dont come with them anyways. So if I wanted to run the 2400 mmp combo I really need the MIP's and Kings Head Mount right? Anything else beside basic upgrades as I go like RPM stuff?

    Yeah the MIPs and Kingz Head would help because you will just strip and twist the stock plastic shafts

    Update:
    So i bought a pair of stock kuhmos on the split six traxxas rims. So i was running 25/50 on 4s to try them out on dirt, the foams flew right out of them, good thing the foam or rubber didnt rip, i just had to glue them in.

    On mine one of the slipper screws came loose and caused major havoc. Other than that, rocks and debris have caused extensive damage to a spur and pinion or two, but no totally missing teeth.

    If you have a disciplined throttle finger, maybe not. If your truck only has two speeds - stop and WOT - then yes.

    Esc Will shut it self down. Motor I would say 170*f to stay safe.

    Talked to Castle yesterday and they said 180 is the safeguard. They said 220 causes damage and they used to say 200 was cutoff but the inside of the can be hotter than outside so they lowered the cutoff so customers would not get too close to the 220 mark.

    yea, i remember it saying, dont let your motor get up to 200, and i was like, thas pretty hot, 180 is the highest i recorded
