    Keep Stripping hexes/wheels

Hello all, I keep stripping wheel hexes and the wheel. I replaced everything on the rear. New diff, New RPM bearing carriers, new bearings. I replaced the whole slipper assembly. Have a KH motor mount and the aluminum slipper bearing adapter and MIP`s front and rear. I had desperados with trenchers on til i stripped the wheel and hex. I went through everything and put the stock wheels and tires back on and a half a pack later it stripped that wheel and hex. It keeps stripping the same one on the right rear. Anyone had this problem before and can give me any idea as to why it keeps doing this? I am running 2s lipo 20c. Also did i just ruin
both sets of wheels or is it a fix where i can use them?

Did you replace the wheels AND the Hexes at the same time? If not definitely do that from now on. You need to also make sure you tighten your hubs all the way down when you put them back on. No idea why you would be stripping one and not the others. I would check and make sure that all of your wheels spin and stop at about the same time.

Yes i did replace both at the same time. I also keep my little 4 way in my pocket and check them after every run. I checked them before i went out and they was tight and was also still tight when i stripped it. I dunno what going on. Guess i`ll look into the 17mm adapters too.

I preferer STRC, they come with a screw that keeps the hex in place, traxxas ones like to fall off as soon you remove the tires.

After much thought, i think i will try superglue or some kind of adhesive.I`m not ready to drop down some dough on new wheels, tires and adapters when nothing is wrong with what i have. My desperados and trenchers i`ve only had for 3-4 months and not alot of runnning on them really. I dont know what gonna happen when my 3`s arrives though lol

Fudge, i can't remember the website i found it on.

I'm having the same issue as you. I had the stock hexes... getting the alluminum hexes/screws, and the desperado rims.... gonna see if that fixes it for me.

But what i also saw was. a guy took finish nails, basically drilled i think a 4 1/16th holes in the hexes AND the rims. and basically used the nails to hold the rim with the hexes.

Ill look and see if i can find the post and it will make more sense than me trying to describe it lolz

Dano i did see that post actually after looking back through some older post trying to figure out how to fix this problem. It seems like alot of people are having this problem i just wish one of the companys would step up and do something to fix it. (not bashing any company) We pay alot of hard earned money for our toys to have this keep happening. I need to go get some super glue or something and try that still. I will post back to let everyone know how that works. If any of you try anything let us know how it worked please

    Guys,
I`m thinking i found out whats doing this. I had to think back about any changes i made. I had a bearing go bad in rear carrier bearing on the left side. Same one i was having a problem with stripping. I bought some other name brand rear carrier bearing and thought i`d just go ahead and put those on with the new bearings. Well thats when i started having problems. My dont know if im allowed to say namebrand (hint : tachometer reads....) After super gluing my wheel it still didnt feel right. I pulled the bearings back out and put them back in the stock ones and everything went together like a glove. If you guys are having this problem and running those other name brand bearing carriers i`m thinking that may be the problem. I hope this helps and would love to hear some feedback.

you can say the word rpm you just cant have links to any other sites

always loctite your nuts. i used a socket on a screw driver handle, you can get it much tighter and it does not bind. the weenie t tool doesnt get it very tight.
i was stripping out stock hexes and wheels all the time with a 3s. i switched to aluminum 12mm hexes and proline wheels and the problem went away.
