    mah question

what does having more mah get you? ex. 2s 5000mah compared to 2s with higher mah. more power, more run time, or more heat, or all of the above.

mAh is basically your battery capacity, more mAh more run time, Although depending on what setup your are lipos can overheat your motor and ESC, so make sure you compare battery output. For example all lipos have this thing called C, which stands for Discharge, higher discharge the more power the battery inputs into your ESC, if your esc is not being able to take all that powerm it will heat up and eventually fry itself with the motor. You should not worry about this problem if you have one of those newer traxxas products, the ESC is equipped with heat termination. The ESC will basically shut down if the temperature is going to be too high for it to stand working.

    Hope that helped

This is simply not correct, the C rating will do nothing to heat up the ESC or motor. A higher C rating simply means the battery can sustain a higher discharge rate but it does not mean it will force a higher discharge rate. The load placed on the motor will determine how fast the system will try to discharge the battery.
