Stock 3.8 rims w/ Road Rage tires

Hey guys , I purchased the Road Rage tires from Proline that are for the stock E Revo 3.8 rims.
I boiled/acetoned the old stock rubber off and cleaned the rims so they are like new.
The problem I got is that the rim is a bit warped / not perfectly round , the outside of the rim is good , its the inside where the star is not that its oval , I have the foams and tire on just not glued yet , Is there a way to fix this? A way to tru up the rim , I got the Road rages for an indoor track and they need to run as balanced as possible.
    Thanks for any ideas!!

Good news is you can have your choice of a lot of different rims.

    Proline Chrome or Black Desperado
Proline VTR white or yellow dish
    Traxxas Stock Erevo again
    Traxxas Chrome Summit/Revo Geode
Its All relative to your perspective.

When I roll the revo slowly its like an egg shape wheel , not quite so exteme but it is oval , the original tires on these rims ran smooth , did i wreck them taking the old rubber off?

look where the hub seats, to the rim. The top pic the rim center is shot..done .. dead.. no more...

bottom pic look how clean & sharp the edges are in the center of the rim..

did you catch any of that..

edit pic #2 see where I am pointing now look at your first pic...

you have to really tighten the hub nut(s) or they can come loose & tear up the rim...gl2u..

Thats a check on that hub , still lots of room to seat the 17 mm hub.
Back to the rim ,, what if I heated the rim in an oven with a round tappered coffee cup sitting in the rim,
Think that would bring it back to normal? I am asumming that when I put them in boiling water then pulled stretched the rubber to remove the tire I wrecked the true roundness of the rim , wish I would have just ordered these tires premounted,
now I got 50 bucks worth of new tires that I dont want to trash, I will be looking for some new rims i think

Personally i have no plan to reuse rims. Done with the tire, done with rim. Glue the heck out of them and get rid of the rim and tire and the same time, esp the Goede rims. Will keep the bead lock ring, thats it.

always glue your own tires, pass on the premounts. Just cuz I tape all my tires & I want to know they are glued properly.

The tires are Traxxas beads, correct.. If you want some offset, Geodes will make your truck 1.500" wider.
