I have a dual 2075 steering servo setup on my slayer pro, whould hitech work well or are they too expensive. i have 2 old futaba servos from a 15 year old car, but i dont think the would work well

You don't need to plug Nitro into the wall
A lot of people go with Hitec but you need new servo horns as the splines are different.

I am using a single hitec 7955 on mine. It comes with a servo horn.
Go with a hitec 645MG. One of them should be plenty strong enough. They are only $31. Traxxas also makes a set of servo horns for the Revo that will fit non traxxas servos. I can't think of the part # off the top of my head though.
