Question Cutting out about 10 minutes in.

After running about 10 minutes the E-Revo cuts out. It just stutters no matter where the trigger is. It acts just like it's getting interference but it can't be because it happened two different places & both after about 10 minutes of driving. The motor was 121 degrees, esc 116, batteries 90. The rx/tx is a Flysky GTB-3, batteries are 3s ******* ********** 5000mah 60c. Stock motor & esc.

    Thanks

I have it set at 3.5v. The batteries were fully charged & they run about 20 minute in my XXL so I know it's not the batteries.

Sounds like your batteries are unable to provide enough current for the MMM esc.

You could try lowering the gearing.

The problem just started 2 runs ago, I got the esc & batteries about 1 1/2 months ago & it's been fine till now.

I wonder if it has something to do with the GTB-3. I just got it recently and the cutting out happened a little after I installed it, I'm going to test another tx/rx once it stops raining here

Your either bouncing off the lvc... Or, maybe the motor to esc bullets. I've had grit in mine cause a studder.

i was having this problem and it was indeed the batteries. the bullet connectors were not making a solid connection causing it to cut out. new bullets and it solved the problem...

I swapped the esc with another one I know works and cleaned the bullet connectors on the motor, tried it today.....It does the same thing

Here is a video I took today showing what it does:

Now I'm thinking it's the motor, I've had it for about 2 years and haven't done anything to it, Do you think it might need to be rebuilt?

Yes, it was running in reverse by itself. Yes, my thumb is broken. Yes, disregard that last comment. Yes, I just moved it out of the way so you can see the trigger.

I'll be trying another tx/rx next. But I don't see how that could be the problem because it works for great for about 10 min then starts messing with me.

No, but I used the batteries in my Losi XXL & ran it for 25 min with no problems. I'm using the MMM esc & 1717 motor in the Losi.

I tried some 2s lipos I had and it still stuttered but not as bad. I switched the FS-gt3b out with my Traxxas 2.4, drove it for about 15 - 20 min (until the pushrod broke) and it was perfectly fine, no stuttering or cogging. That is a mystery to me. Next I'm going to try the gt3b in my Slash to see if it does the same thing.

So you drove it with the Traxxas 2.4, drove it for about 15 - 20 min & ran fine I think that gives you your answer...

It really looks like you had poor calibration, or a ton of throttle trim still in the radio....

If a car is moving into reverse on its own, thats a big red flag to recalibrate.

So I put the gt3b in the Slash & everything works fine. It must have been something to do with the calibration like duacti777 said.

    Thanks everybody for their help
