I've got the RPM wear plates over my stock skid plates and I highly recommend them. Thirty bucks or so for front, back, and center.

rpm wear plates for sure, aluminum chassis braces from pretty much anyone but integy. i dont like rd logics either myself though. ive been debating on aluminum skids with rpm wears over top just to make it more rigid yet. but rpm wear plates for sure and aluminum underneath possibly.

I'm really a fan of titanium skid plates, either 2mm or 3mm from GARC or 2mm from HCR. However both are decently hard to find, especially the GARC skids and will cost ya.

Other wise go with a good bumper and the stock skids with RPM wear plates. Cut off aluminum skids with RPM wear plates is another good option. Lastly some people like the spring steel skids, but I have no hands on experience with them.

I had Duratrax aluminum skid plates, although I drove into a tree not to fast and the front skid bent.

Everyone seems fond of the rpm waer plates. So there just plastic that goes over the original skidplate? I snapped off my font tip of the skidplate on the from that covers the diff so idk if it would work. And for braces anything goes beaides integy right? I've never bought there stuff, I've heard alot of bad things

As you stated the RPM wear plates don't protect the lip of the skid. If you were to stay with the stock skids a RPM front bumper helps to cover that. The RPM wear plates just help to add a little more rigidity and impact resistance for the most part.

In terms of chassis braces I'd start the search off with Fastlane Machine. Good prices and good products for the most part.

There are a set of Hardcore Racing titanium skids on ebay atm, pretty worn, but at a good price.

pretty much anyone besides integy is right, i would buy all ti parts if i could find them or afford them for down the center where u want your rigidity. but you want plastic skids or wear covers to take the abuse. and having them over stock ones will greatly strengthen them to keep them from breaking.

I just wanna make it a graeat basher. I appreciate your input. In the manual I found tmaxx chassis braces blue aluminum for $60 so I'll get them with the rpm wear plates. I also found blue aluminum tracxas bulkheads for $75 a set ($150 for feint and back) is that too pricey for the quality ?

there good, around average. but were they 6061 or 7075? i dont remember if traxxas makes 7075 ones or not. but heres a thought. if you dont mind a little and i mean vary little extra weight then go with the acncm ones. there an ebay only store but there milled from billet not cast at all. and there 6061. and from what im told stronger than some other ones because there not machined out as much, which is why there heavier. but either way you get the front and rear bulks together for like $50 shipped. so i would go that route. if you want the best of the best as far as bulkheads go then get the 7075 bulks from great assembly. $150 gets you both front and rear for the good ones, or $75 for either the front or rear seperate. then there 6061 bulks run for $100 to do the front and rear both or $50 for individual front or rear.

for which ones man? if u mean the $50 ebay ones there not stronger than all of them, especially 7075 bulks. and i would say there probably not stronger than any of the great assembly ones either. other than that there pretty much the same other than a few select ones as long as there all 6061. just go to ebay though and search acncm, they will be right there man, less than 40 items all together.

Remember this basic rule when it comes to deciding metal or plastic parts.

    1. Do you want to absorb the forces of impact? Skids take a beating, wear plates will help absorb impact and add a little more rigidity to your skids.

    2. Do you want more rigidity and not concerned about absorbing impacts. Remember metal parts will transfer the force of an impact to the mounting screws and whatever those screws go into... A chassis, bulkheads are pretty much the ideal places for this.... Bumper mounts, skids, not so much..... And with any area needing to screws into metal use good screws... Tony's screws are tops, or go to the hardware store and locate their heat treated 12.9 steel (also known as grade 8) screws... I've yet to strip one since 2005 so that's saying something there...

I use an RPM bumper and I use the rear bumper mounts on the front, they stick out farther allowing more crush room before you make contact. I also found my stock skids underneath no longer get broken. I've even cut them down to just above the notches that access the hinge pins....
