Switched fuels at the suggestion of the LHS to run cooler. Took several hours of tinkering with the HSN, LSN, Idle to get the new fuel to start combusting properly. Now she runs smooth and cool. No more melting the glow plugs.

are you using hardend clutch bells? it will do that over and over again even with perfect mesh. i recomend going back to plastic spurs to be honest with you.

    bumpy bump bump bump...................................

pulled the maxx out to install all my missing e-clips to possibly get it running soon. cant do much with my tire options right now though. because i dont want to ruin my race tires.............. so wish i would have put the set of old chevron tires on that were barely glued to the wheels instead of the ones i spent hours ungluing, cleaning old glue off, taping, and then regluing. i guess im debating if i want to go through that again so i have tires to run on............. or wait and get some beadlock wheels which are also 17mm like my race tires.

Dreamed about it as my new 3.3 on old 4910 model is sitting at Traxxas wating to be replaced. Think I got a bum engine. Traxxas is on the ball and offered to replace since it was new on their "power up" program

I cut out the passenger side windshield and rear window to allow better air flow past the engine, re-applied locktite to some screws that came loose, tuned it for the warmer temps, and went off a 4 foot ramp for my first jump ever and landed on the lid only to find out, nothing broke! Amazing!

I had my first bash session. Im new to nitro and bought a 3.3 tmaxx Saturday and today is the first time I've been able to get it runnin. I was gonna take it to the hobby store closest to me (100 miles away) this weekend buti managed to get it runnin and it was a blast. Built a ramp inmy backyard and had a good bash session. However it kept stalling every few minutes when I would be driving slow or idling. Any suggestions?

question 1: did you do your break in procedure properly?
question 2: did you leave it at the stock fuel settings or did you tune it after your break in was done?

if not then you need to tune it. which is what it sounds like to me

Took mine out today. Tried starting it but it wouldnt start. The plug was good so i inspected further and saw that the header was wet. Turned the ez start on and saw fuel spewwing out from the top of where the header meets the block. It has a new gasket so i guess its break down time. You gotta love nitro

I did the break in as instructed by the manual but when I went to start it today it wouldn't start so I richened the idle and the needles And it started and I readjusted the Lsn and idle and did my best with tuning the hsn. I would rather it run rich since I'm not tryin to race just tryin to bash and have fun

running rich can be harmeful just like running lean can.
you need to do a full tune for performance and then just richen the hsn a hair more to be safe.
explain in detail how your tuning your lsn and hsn and when and ill see how much i can help you out man. do you have a temp gun?

I tuned my lsn with the pinch method and have the hsn as high as it goes(now thinking this isn't a good idea). I have the idle set to where it doesn't move forward in idle. Been tuning after highspeed runs like the book says. I don't have a temp gun yet. No lhs where I live (a small college town) so I'll be getting one in a week or two when I go back to my hometown where I got the truck. I'm new to this so any help with the hsn tuning is greatly appreciated.

ok, are you tuning the lsn with pinch test with it just sitting there? or after a high speed run as well? i used to do it wrong thinking just sitting there was right but you need to do your pinch test after a high speed run as well.

for the hsn since you dont have a temp gauge you need to watch your smoke trail more than anything. as long as you have smoke when your going all out at the top of second gear your good. and by as high as it goes do you mean open which is turning it counter clockwise, or closed as in clockwise? if you have it all the way counter clockwise i would bet 99.9% that your to rich and its flooding the engine not allowing it to go to second gear. which is why you had to lean it to start it as well. start with your lsn flush and your hsn 4 turns out and retune from there watching your smoke trails. 4 turns is pretty rich and mostly for break in so you shouldnt be more than that really unless your driving in extreme cold conditions.

Sorry for being a noob but when you say 4 turns out do you mean 4 turns out from all the way as far as it goes counter clockwise? And yes I did the Lsn after a high speed run. Top end seems good with blue smoke comin out. My problems is it cutting off when idling or going slow

turn the needle all the way clockwise until it bottoms out, then slowly turn the needle 4 turns counter clockwise from there. what times were you getting for the lsn on the pinch test? by counting 1 mississippi 2 mississippi and so on? if your hsn is to high which all the way counter clockwise is, it can still flood on low speed. if you suddenly mash the throttle does it go instantly? does it bog and try to stall or actually stall? if you slowly ease on the throttle does it get up to speed fine at the same time? these are sympoms of a needle allowing to much fuel by to quick.

3 mississippi on the Lsn. From what you're describing it seems like I'm to rich so when I get it out tomorrow I'll work on that. Thanks for all your help man
