Hello traxxas forum!!
I thought I would start a thread for my son's (moopy01rc) Merv build.
I would first just like to say that I wish I would have bought one of these 10 years ago. For the number of cheap crap rc car's I've bought over the years for both boys (10 and 18) I could have bought 4-5 mervs.
The only rc vehicle that holds a candle to this merv is an old school turbo twister. Which had long screws instead of wheels. That was fun could drive it on water/snow etc...
Now back to our Merv....
Got it around christmas for my son's birthday so we've been playing with it since then in the snow and cold conditions of the poconos.
OMG, are these cars awesome.
I've been lurking here for a while picking tricks and tips. I still have a bunch to learn but it seems like a great group here.
Current mod list
(I call my son my #1 mod helper since he has been helping me mod our subarus since he could hold a flashlight)
RPM A arms front and back
traxxas AL adjustable toe links
traxxas Al push rods
gtr shocks (80 wt oil)
purple summit springs
hitec 5085mg servo (******* on the slow boat)
center diff (100k) was empty/dry as received from traxxas
steel hollow balls
tbone skid plate w/ front and rear bumpers (saved us a bunch already)
since we didn't have a charger and hated waiting 6 hours for 1 battery to charge, picked up a
traxxas ezpeak plus charger
recently picked up the dual 2s balance board for the charger (~70 minutes to balance charge 2 2200mah 2s traxxas lipos)
Usually running 2s lipos in parallel, but also running parallel nimh (1600mah) as well. Wish I would have gone straight to the lipos btw.
Here is a couple images and some links to some videos. I thought it would make some good material for my #1 mod helper to play/learn about video editing, so take it easy on him.
