They feel decent. The only thing i dont like about them is the wrapping doesnt cover them completely. The cells are exposed at the bottom. No big deal tho.

I sold my Merv today. Great car but I decided having 4 cars is enough for me.
Welp 3s with 45/33 gearing is useless lol. You gotta go soo easy on the throttle you run out of road before you can get up to top speed. Itll wheelie at pretty much any speed. Even like half throttle if you hit a rock and the front comes up at all the whole front wants to pop all the way up. Put on 50/33 gearing now and its better but i need a smoother road to test it out on lol.
^^ Using a smaller spur will decrease torque, which decreases the likelihood of wheelying. The smaller spur increases top speed.
I understand that. I just wanted to get 3s to see how fast i get it to go. I dont wanna gear is so it feels the same as 2s. The 3s will probably get sold or stay at storage V and ill just use 3s once in a wile lol.
Sounds awesome, are you using foams with that setup? I THINK I remember you saying u had speed hawgs or something, my brain is like mush, lol
* "If it ain't broke, your doin it wrong" *
Yes im using speed hawgs. Im thinking about getting a custom set of foams for some HPI monster ss wheels. I cant find the company that does the custom foams tho.
Cobra ^ ^ has a set of custom foams, hit him up about itI was going to do the same thing.
* "If it ain't broke, your doin it wrong" *
He had jayco foams. I didnt know he had custom ones also.
The guy who makes them is the user "gone banana" on rctech.net.
Does he have a website or do i just PM him?
You have to PM him.
Alright just PMed him! I hope he can make me some!
Just finished putting together a full set of Proline Road Rage on Titus Bead Locks. Can't wait to test drives these.
imagned it as a micro put an xmods next to it thought dang i wish i had a bigger house
decided to take it out executed a perfect backflip came in the house to find my charging nimh had burst :/ CRAP!
Backflips are hard on the diffs. Are they shimmed? Shouldn't leave it charging unattended! Might need a charging bag too
Got ahold of gone banana and im gonna get some foams to try out! Just dont know if im gonna get the HPI mesh or HPI monster ss wheels.
I was thinking about going with the monsters cause everyone has the mesh ones
* "If it ain't broke, your doin it wrong" *
Well the mesh wheels look soo good that it wouldnt bother me having 2 sets. Im still trying to decide if i want foam tires or not. I never used foam tires before and i wannna try them out. But i dont know if they would be worth it or not.
They're worth it. They bring parking lot runs a new meaning.
The whole no ballooning & having better control is very appealing.
Well itll cost me $50 for a set. $20 for the wheels and gone banana said $30 to mount them. Im just waiting to hear back from him. It takes a wile to get replies from him!![]()
The $50 is well worth it. They've lasted me several months so far.
Thats not bad, I did use nitro shoes on my merv for while...foams are AMAZING!! They hooked up like crazy, they were just so small so top end wasnt that great.

If gone banana ever replies ill be getting some.
Gone banana finally replied. I just ordered a set of monster ss wheels that will be on their way to him in a few days. Should have some custom foams in about a week and a half - two.
When I run my SS after the bushings and large center washer I didn't have enough axle left to reach the nylon in the lock nut. Ended up with 4mm barrel nuts works great
All i used with my HPI mesh wheels was the smallest adapter. I didnt use the metal washer on the outside.
I figured it would be too weak without it
If you have any of those plastic bushings like in the rockers they fit right in the middle of the rims. Helps keep it centered
Thats what the smallest adapter that comes with them does.
Will do!i never ran foam tires before. Should be interesting!!
Check out this thread for some pics of his work http://traxxas.com/forums/showthread...5-Gone-too-far

There is still a space the size.of the bushing that gets filled and helps
ummmm no i dont even know what shimming is its my first hobby grade and it wasnt a lipo it was the standard battery
oops didnt know i said it was a nimh how much is a charge bag
A good charging bag is around 20 bucks. Its really a lipo bag nimh are usually safer. Basically when you shim a diff you are moving the ring gear closer to the pinion by placing a thin shim behind the ring gear. There usually is a little play there
