Today my Merv is retiring to the shelf for a while. I might even part out my Merv. The Vorza comes tomorrow and I've got a sweet 5s setup and BELTED radial tires for on-road running.

Good luck cobra give us an update how it goes!
Thanks, I will. I at first wanted a 1/8 touring car, but then realized that a 1/8 buggy is the best of both worlds. I can even snag a D8T and use all the Vorza parts if I want a truggy one day.
Cool I have an 1/8 scale kyosho with road rage tires on it os v spec and a two speed I adapted
That thing wont roll! I can go 30 and crank the wheel hard and it will slide!
I am sure you will have it going 80 in no time!
Did you inspect you ring and pinion? Had to replace both of mine
BROKE THE TBONE CHASSIS BRACE TODAY HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA good times(nothing else broke woot woot)

Is that the crash from the other day? No good!
Had two good days. Busy times, lotsa wrenching.
I got Losi 100WT Shock Oil and Traxxas 500K Diff Oil in the mail.
I put the 100WT in the my rear shocks yesterday and changed to 1-hole pistons. While i had the shocks all apart I installed some Tamiya TiNi shock shafts into the YR bigbores. They fit nicely with minor modifications on the pistons.
Might be the combination of the 100WT oil and the 1-hole piston, but i feel i had made a huge leap foward in finding the perfect supspension setup.
This makes a huge difference. Handling is noticeable better with more dampening in the back. I might need a tad smaller limiters in the shocks, then they should be perfect for my terrain.
Last night i took the plunge on the center diff and exchanged the 100K for the 500K oil. It was my first center diff maintaince. Was happy to find the diff in good condition.
Looks god after about 25 packs 2S and maybe ~10 packs 3S through it.
Cleaned, shimmed, filled with 500K and fresh bearings.
btw. if you ever thought how the heck you should get that 100K out of the bottle wait till you get 500K. No way to squeeze that stuff out.
Its like thick glue/goo and sticks to everything, funny stuff. I managed to scrape some out with a thin stick and transfered it into the diff cup.
@Traxxas: please ship this ultra thick stuff in a can with a spatula not in a bottle with a spout 1.5mm wide!
Oh, and i totally forgot about some Integy bling i bought long time ago, thought maybe it will aid in cooling. Mounted that too..
And back to the empty home:
Took her out for spin today. So far i would say its definitely an improvement over 100K.
Way less ballooning on the front tires, less powerloss. I even got some wheelies on 2S back. Still better handling as without a Center Diff. If you hated your CD with thinner oil, give this a try, might change your mind.

That's insane 50 and that kinda power? Who needs bb
run mine today and lose out of control, hit the fence, broke my left front aluminum toe link and also my RX antenna wire tip came off, so today is just not a good day, but in the other hand, my 3900kv tacon motor and ezrun 35a ESC will be here by tuesday. i'll get this thing fix by tomorrow.
cool let us know how it rides!
jhsmith87 and on a single battery!
2s or 3s? What c rating
2 cell boost 50/90c and ******* 2250 65/130 and boost 1800 60/120 3 cell
CMD-J let me know if that helps with cooling. I am running the stock motor and ESC which always runs hot. I have tried several different gearing ratios but still having problems.
Any other suggestions?
I run the Strc mount and plate it helped a few degrees. Everything adds up and helps
Got some aluminum strength at a good price nice and blue
Heat sink shifted wasn't a sloppy job! Took 3 shims front and rear with new ring &pinions. Little on the tight side coated them with Sullivan's dry ice for the Teflon lube.I will see how they hold up, my 13 year old daughter is hard on the throttle up in the mountains!
After the ride diffs spin nice and smooth, broke in well.
Winning? Vids are in route!!

Whatever I just said.. I'm probably wrong..
Over the last couple months, I've added a Traxxas motor heat sink, The Toyz ESC fan, 19 tooth pinion gear, ******* servo, locking body clips, CVD front and rear driveshafts, replaced both bulkheads and rebuilt my rear differential all in preparation for today...the maiden voyage on SPC 1500mah 3S lipos. Unbelievable how much fun this thing is!

Looks good!. Great job
JDoug, how did you get the fan to mount on the ESC. This is the most clean one I have seen!
That's fantastic! Do you have a link for where you got the fan?
I broke it's nose....

Nobody is born with experience.
that hurt!here is a trick i do.i save the foam that comes in the traxxas packaging like toe links, push rods, cvds etc; and cut it to fit in the body post .absorbs some of the impact-i have a zip tie there because i broke this one before the foam and was hanging like yours.![]()
you see that even rpm can break !!!!
BTW Peter sorry to see another thing broke
you aint got much luck the last few weeks
nice tip from 50 BTW!!!

Lol. It was just a screw that came lose. Fixed in 2 minutes. GPM body mount works great.

Seems i destroyed another alloy knuckle today. Last week the HR front knuckle, this time an GPM rear left.
I noticed a slight binding on that wheel a few days ago. I changed the rear wheel to the front, tested and it felt good and smooth. Then i run another four 2200mAh packs with it. Today noticed exess play on that axle and decided to inspect further.
After unscrewing the pivotballs:
The big, inner bearing somehow disintegrated.
I think the remaining bearing remnants took the knuckle with them. Running it further without noticing the damage didnt help either.
Cannot get a new bearing in, as the seat is to deformed.
I'll try to call the dremmel to the rescue tommorow, but might need a new one.![]()
