Front and rear wheels?

Are the front and rear wheels the same? Im looking for a new set of wheels and tires. And some of the wheels i have found say they are for the rear? The stock wheels all look the same?

You want rear wheels at all four corners.

Thanks man! Will any 2.2 tire fit any 2.2 wheel? Or do some brands mount different?

2.2 is the diameter, some are wider than others. So you could get a 2" wide 2.2 wheel, with a 1" wide 2.2 tire, and they wouldn't fit. Just make sure the widths are similar enough.

Then with wheels there is OFFSET, and that is the spot where the wheel bolts to a car, so with more or less offset, the wheel will bolt either closer to the edge of the wheel, or more to the middle of the wheel.

Then there are the type of wheels, you need ones that are a HEX like the stock one... that's why you certainly don't get 'front' wheels, because for rear-wheel only cars, the front ones are ball-bearing and that's the last thing you want for a drive wheel!

So will the 2.2 2in wide HPI mesh wheels fit? They say they have a traxxas adaptor. Has everyone put the proline hole shots on a MERV?

Yes those wheels will fit, but I have never used that rubber.

I just ordered some white HPI mesh wheels. Im gonna dye them black! Im gonna hold off on tires till the speed hawgs are back in stock.

The HPI Mesh are my favorite. They remind me so much of Ford GT wheels.

I got them from towerhobbies. The only ones in stock were white. But dying parts is stupid easy. So im just gonna dye them black or blue.

I think im gonna keep the wheels till i can get some speed hawgs. And i think ill get some HPI monster ss rims and put the proline hole shots on them for off road.
