A body running the ProTrac kit?

    Anybody running the ProTrac kit?

How much longer are the arms?

Comparing a bunch of pictures that are floating around to the truck I have here it looks like the arms are 1cm 1mm longer than the stock slash 4x4 arms.

This seems to be backed up by the fact that I have 2 of the renegade wheels that go with the kit(slash 2wd fronts) and the offset on the 2 differs by around 9mm. This wheel comparison only holds true if the full kit provides stock width. But the 2 figures do seem to back each other up.

    Can anyone confirm these numbers?

The protrac arms are 11mm each side, the wheels in kit are offset to give you the the same wheelbase you have. Adding any other wheel gives you a wide mod truck. Even though your wheelbase didn't change using the kit parts, you suspension will be wider set and it will give you a plush ride. I mean real stadium truck feel with landings and bumps. I may put it on this week.. just not sure what direction to go wit the xl right now. As long as the proline arms hold up for this truck I think anyone who tries it will be hooked. Sure got me with the 2wd lol

So is the kit just the arms? I remember the emaxx protrac kit came with cvd's i believe. Just wondering if these will work sufficiently with my stampede xduty's?

Interestingly though they sell a stampede specific kit hmm.....

Took a minute to hit me, lol, I was thinking, cool they got an emaxx kit .... Apex, are you thinking of RPM's true track for set rear toe rather than stock adjustable rear toe.

well the newer maxx's came out and they were wider any ways. so i think thats why it never stuck around. It was a pretty sweet kit though.

Cool, ya, I guess that explains the stable maxx line fading away too. Thank you, I've learned another tid-bit of good info today. Man I love this forum!

Anyone who runs this as a wide mod for a basher will love the links I have ready for my truck. They are huge tube alloy design from traxxas but that's all I'm saying lol, you'll see. I have ripped arms and wheels off my trucks! Wheels rolling away, bulked split, pins bent intense bad, and the links scratched up anodizided color with the ends ripped off but never broke or bent any time I've wrecked.

this thread actually got me thinking about getting the kit when my next arm breaks. i'm not that impressed with RPM arms anymore, sure there hard to break and have a lifetime warranty, but over time they will start to sag. i've notice this with 2 of my arms and in all honesty im not gonna warranty them when i can go to the LHS, get another set for $12 and have everything ready to go before the batt. is done charging (i dont start charging til i get back). but i want something that bolts up without doing any mods like the jato arms but around the same length

hows the quality of the plastic, is it soft like RPM?

    and

do you think they will hold up against hard bashing?

Here's a these of mine bashing on my sl2sh xlmt its a monster! It has protrac all around and toelwers in that kit also. I do my own custom thing for monster links to. Many beefed up monster mods but just a plain old protrac system under the chassis. Never broke an arm jumping but.... wait, ya I did, one front but on the street with some vicious hits lol check this out

The kit comes with wheels. They look like slash fronts to me. "standard" 4x4 wheels will make your truck about 2cm wider.

Protrac kit finally got here. Running with stock offset wheels.

It makes the truck about 2cm wider. Looks like more than that when you look at it.

Down travel is not as much as I expected even running rear scte shocks on the front. Could be more with some modification.

Looks way more planted than stock and I'll bet that it will drive that way too. Too wet for driving today maybe tomorrow.

    Sorry for the poor pics.

Shock and arm travel is actually limited by the castor block more than any thing. check it out as the arm drops it bottoms out on the castor block.

Ran the truck off a small jump a few times and it was great. Suspension felt nice and soft yet stiff enough to not bottom out. Launched and flew through the air with a naturally good attitude. Felt very planted while turning.

All other suspension settings and adjustments were exactly the same as when I was running the RPM arms yet it worked so much better. I don't even feel a need to tune it (can't believe it could get much better).

    Suspension setup:
-Losi SCTE 4x4 rear shocks all the way arround
    -25 wt oil all around
-2 of 4 holes in rear pistons bored out
-0 of 4 holes in front pistons bored out
-black losi front springs on the front and rears on the back
-black sway bars front and rear

I may thin the oil or bore out the pistons in the front set of shocks as they are slightly over dampened on this new setup.

I hate to admit that I thought this protrac kit wouldn't be that awesome but it is. That being said I am running stock offset wheels and I still think that when I run the protrac wheels I will loose some of the performance i have as of now. I could be wrong though.
