Traxxas sponsors Courtney Forces funny car

I currently own two Traxxas Spartans and I also am a drag racing fan. I could not help but notice Traxxas is sponsoring Courtney Forces funny car. It makes you wonder why? Could the first rc funny car be in the future? I think this is a great idea. Huge tire smoking drag slicks and wheelie bars to keep it on the ground. They could install front brakes so you could lock up the front end for some great burnouts. Release the brake just like a real drag car and finish the burnout. Racing your friends would be a riot. Unlike the xo1 very little room would be required to run a race. Maybe timing lights and equipment just like the real thing. If I were Traxxas I would unveil the cars at a national drag racing event and let the real pros drive them on the track against each other. The fans would love it. Is Traxxas already thinking about this or did I just plant a seed.

I love the idea but form what I have seen with the XO-1

I don't think they can compete with the drag car's that are out there.. There just too fast...

I own a couple 1/10 scale dragster and I don't think traxxas can ever sell some thing that fast to average users.

These cars do from 1.3 to 1.6 sec at over 100 MPH in 132FT..

I saw a couple for sale on craigslist once and was curious about RC drag cars. It does not seem like there would be a big enough market out there for them. Your average user is'nt going to drop that kind of money on what traxxas would need to put out compete with others out there.
