dont know how get the bearings out of the axle carriers on my erevo vxl.

my bearings sound like there is a little dirt in them so i don't want to chew up my bearings. also what should i clean them with.

Once your bearings feel gritty... Theyre probably damaged and should be replaced ($5). But there is always a chance i guess.

You can pop the seal off with a razor blade. The best way is the use wd40 and then compressed air. If it can still spin at high rpm in your hands then it should work in your rc.

There are screws (pillow ball screws) that thread through the carriers and into the a-arms. Remove pillow ball plastic black caps from the carriers with traxxas multi tool, remove pillow ball screws from a-arms with a 3mm hex.
Its All relative to your perspective.

Pry them off by placing a small flathead screwdriver in the small gap between the knuckle and the plastic hex. Some gently rocking and they should come right off.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks my axle carrier cracked. Thanks for your help I just ran my 3s lipo and my front left tire started to come off, even with my center diff the front tires lift at full speed even when I ease on the gas slowly. Its a little to much power.

Just to clarify, your axle carrier cracked as you tried to get the hex off?

Or while running on 3S? What Oil did you run in your center-diff?

I have two 3S and a center diff (with 100000WT oil) on order.

Axle carrier cracked from hitting something on 2s a while ago but it still works (if I don't hit anything). My center diff came dry so I bought 5k oil (all my hobby shop had) and put it in. Love my mini revo but kind of want a big one.

Sounds like an opportunity to ugrade to some nice alu carriers.

I think 5K WT for the center, or any diff on the MERV ist way too thin.

The stock is a spool, so if it was completely locked up it would be like running stock.

I agree that 5k is way too thin... I have 50k and think its too thin. lol
Whatever it is I just said... I could be wrong.

I think you can not solely rely on diff oil to stop wheelies, might be wrong though.

A lot of factors like, tyre/surface combination ie grip, weight distribution on the car, COG and ESC settings/characteristics playing a role - and not to forget your trigger finger skills.

Probably a good idea to get some diff oil, maybe 30K and 100K. Start with the 30K fr/rear and 100K in the center, and work from there until you find a setup that works for your car configuration. If you have 30K and 100K you can mix all other weights from 30-100K yourself. There are online calculators for that. I read you can not compare diff oil from diffferent brands, they all meassure the weight a bit differently, so best to stick to one brand for best results i think.

I currently run 30K front and rear on 2S2P. Had the most success controlling wheelies by tuning down startup force on my esc, but i have an non-traxxas one, i think its not possible on the stock esc?

    yeah it isn't possible..

that's sick though about the 30k 100k thing, maybe I'll just pick those two up and get to mixin
