    Steel transmission gears problem

The 2nd speed (17t/29t) gears aren't moving as smoothly as they should. I need to use a decent amount of pressue to make it go around. Will these fix themselves if I run the Jato at a slow speed for a while? After a while of just forcing it by hand, it seems smoother.

Do you mean that those 2 teeth were separated more that it should ?
i wish that they'll replace them for you or at least refunding you.

Photo doesn't really do it justice, but it's meant to be deeper in between the teeth. As a result, the 17t gear won't mesh. I fixed it with my dremel, but it's not 100% perfect. Works though. Sent Hot Racing an email.

that's bad to hear it going with you
next time buy stock gears and adjust the slipper clutch "at least 3/4 turns " out from close. this will save your trany. i'm using an o.s 21tm engine for years now, and i'm still having the stock internal gears... no damages at all. my current setting with this engine is 1 1/2 turns out from full close.

I understand the frustration when you go to Hop Up/Modify to improve things.. But his is not a Traxxas product you are asking support for.

    He will be greatly missed...
