Putting 50wt shock oil in rear diff?

What is the downside to putting 50wt silicone shock oil in the rear diff? I didn't have any diff oil available?

I'm going order some in the mail a couple days to get here.

I also used some bicycle grease on the ring and pinion gears.

50wt is really thin. It will probably leak out fast. It will work.

    So no damage?

I just fixed my sons stampede and he really wants to drive our pedes together.

Also, the rear diff is sealed with an o-ring, how would it leak out? Around the bearing?

What recommendation front and rear diff oil?

50 wt will not do much at all, once it warms up it will be like water. You want 10,000wt diff fluid. That will make it like a limited slip diff.
