yeah I had it on mine slash MT, it is great motor, but since the cost of the 2650 is close to the 2200 I would suggest getting the 2200.

I'm running the 2650 with a 3s it's got a ton of power compared to stock. Never clocked it but I smoke my cousins stock 4x4 easily.

Get the 2200 for sure. Just be prepared to spend money to upgrade almost everything. Although the 2400 is a great choice as well...

I have heard that if you get any mamba monster, you go through driveshafts a lot, I already have MIPs so that upgrade is out of the way...but what is the real difference between the 2650 and the 2200?

    about four fiddy.

    j/k

2200 has a bit more Tq and the 2650 is a bit more top end, much better for a lighter vehicle. Thats my understanding between the 2. Not totally sure if they have the same battery differences along the lines of the MMP 2400 and 3800 for example.

yeap driveshaft upgrades are a must, I have mips F&R. Both motor geared the same the 2650 sould be faster, but the 2200 will run cooler and produce more torque.

A member at my local track told me she would sell me a 2200 and esc for $200. I would like to have it but really dont have the money. Is this a pretty good deal?

Where do you find it for $300? new in shops is $360 almost everywhere.

As far as used, if you can get a combo anywhere from $150-200 you are looking good. Sometimes you can luck out and find them cheaper separately.

The other thing is from my understanding a 3s is really underpowered for the 2200kv system. I thought you should not run any thing less than a 4s lipo which is what I run in mine. the other problem is the weight of the bigger motor and bigger battery weigh it down more, so it bottoms out real easy on medium size jumps. just some things to think about.

i have the MMM/2200 in both my slash and in a SC8

3 s would be underpowered in the SC8 - but in my slash - its MORE than fast.

I ran several races last year and not one truck out on the field could stay with my truck on the straight - i had way more power and speed than was appropriate for the loose sandy track, and my driving skills need some major work. I ended up turning the throttle top end limit way way down and could still pull the field easily on the straights.

Have also never twisted or destroyed an axle or motor mount OR the center diff - all stock platinum parts still.

The car is so fast i never have any need to lay on instant power so I have the throttle ramping set very conservative also.

I also never ever worry about heat in the motor no matter how many packs i push thru it - it never gets more than luke-warm ..... unlike my son's Velinion on 2s that is hot to the touch. He will be getting a 4pole CC system soon - havent decided on Monster or SC system yet - but will ikely be MMM/2200 for the sheer durability of it.

The SC8 need 4s to make close to same speed - and since i have the 2200 - I can go all the way to 6s if I need insane speed.
