Is this free space OK for the center shaft?

I would like to know if this space is ok for the center shaft. Mine is 1,5cm loose and I'm not sure if it was supposed to be like that.
    Thanks in advance.

That's how they come from the factory. I'm guessing the slop is to allow for some chassis flex. I didn't like how it rattled so I put a rubber o-ring on each out-drive.

Same gap on mine. Guess it needs free movement for flex.

That's exactly what it's for. No reason to worry!

Thanks guys! I though it should be alright but it doesn't hurt to ask right?
I like the idea of the o-ring.

If you have a front end collision, it gives the shaft room to move. It doesn't destroy lots of other parts. It's a smart design

Thanks for the o-ring tip, i've tried super thick grease trying to make it not sound like its falling apart already.
