    Width extension

Does anyone know of anything that will extend the width of my trucks tires for better handeling around corners?

Integy makes some 17mm wheel hex extenders, they have different ones ranging from 6mm to 24mm. Or you can get some new wheels and or tires with 1/2 to 1 offset. Proline makes some and other companies do too but I can't think of them right now.
    Hope that helps

    1/2 offset wheels.
edit- he beat me to it. I also think kershaw designs makes a widetrack type kit for it.

1/2 offset wheels are ok. Hub extenders can really increase the stress on the axial carriers and bearings in the axle carriers. I think offset wheels are a must on Maxx's and Revo's, especially if you run a high ground clearance set up.
If at first you don't succeed, redefine success.

Do the Geode's have more offset than the other popular 1/2 offset rims? I'd love a little more width, myself. I'm running offset Axial 8 spoke...but if the Geode's offer more offset, I'll switch over in a heartbeat!

I'm confused... First you said your revo was 17.5" wide... Then you said it's 17.0" wide and your summit is 15.5" wide.

Which wheels do you have on which truck? (sorry....it's late and I've been studying all day...ha)

    17 1/2" was a guess I couldn't remember the correct width. I was within a 1/2" lol

The correct width is 17" with Geodes..(Summit's Rims)
    &
My truck Sum~Revo is a Revo with a two speed trans & Dewalt 14.4v motor. So with the stock rims, with no offset is 15 1/2"..

So the Geodes with the offset gain you an 1 1/2" in width..

In some of your pics I see you have offset Axial rims... Have you measured the overall width with those compared to the Geodes??

The Traxxas forum doesn't allow links but just search in your preferred search engine "Integy 17mm hex offset". Those are the only hex extensions I can find.

    Geodes are 1/2" offset wheels.

ProLine Desperados are also 1/2" offset.

Try running a set of tires like ProLine Badlands or Trencher X's on 1/2" offsets. The increased stability from the wider offset and the firmer tire compound will probably be all you are looking for.

I am running Trencher X's on my ERBE, it has completely transformed the handling of the truck, compared to the 0 offset Geminis and stock Talons.

so, by making your e-revo wider it won't necessarily make it "handle" better. handling is very subjective... it will be more stable, but at the same time you are hurting your turning radius. to me, the truck is wide enough stock. IMO, you are better off fine tuning the suspension & ride height to make it handle like you want.
