besides changing the position I know it has to do with the shock shaft itself I'm just unsure on how to do it......

You did mean to lower the ride height right? Put tubing or spacers inside the shock under the piston. Keeps them from fully expanding. Also move the mount positions to the outside most holes.

But what type of indoor racing? If off-road, you'll need some compressibility for the jumps.

    Go to this website: http://www.rcarindy.com/classes.html

Click on the pictures at the top right. The third one is what you want to look at. I used pastic spacers instead of tubing. But same result.

You'll have to unscrew the shock ends with the pivot ball. When you do this, you'll have to hold the shock shaft with pliers. Do NOT scratch the shaft. If you do, those scratches will wear out the o-rings as they pass through them. I always hold the shaft at the very bottom just above the end. This part of the shaft is least likely to pass through the o-rings.

Just remember, you may have to fiddle with the amount to get the ride height you desire. Put them together without oil or the diaphragm and install on the truck to check height.

BTW, after you jack up the ride height, you'll have to reset your camber and possibly tow.

Also, since you're in there, now's a good time to change the oil weight. I use 50/60 for off-road and 80 wt for oval.

    You want to use these:

Lots of different sizes and way more accurate and consistent than fuel tubing.

Fuel tubing works, but it has a tendency to split in the shock messing up your ballance. Those spacers take a lot of the guess-work out of it.
