Platinum still on back order

I've been trying to buy a Platinum Slash from Tower for about 5 weeks, but they are on back order. Does anyone know why they'd be on back order so long?

Did Traxxas stop making them or something?

I ordered mine at hobbytown USA and it was on back order and it took 5-6 weeks but it was worth it.

no traxxas doesnt make them i believe. they were a limited edition

Thanks for the info guys. I didn’t realize the Platinum was a limited edition. I thought it was available all the time, but just came with upgrades.

Don’t really want the Ultimate as it comes with radio, battery, charger, etc. and I don’t need that. But I see in another thread here that the Ultimate is being made available with new upgrades. Is it possible that is what’s happening with the Platinum and may be the reason that it’s on back order for so long?

Does anyone know where I could buy a Platinum right now? There isn’t really a LHS in this area so I’m looking to purchase on-line if possible.

id check ebay. or your local craigslist.
