TQi on the summit?

I am interested in getting the TQi reciever and app for my iphone4. But I have a few questions, since I am a radio newbz... I can fix on my car but when it comes to the reciever etc I dont have much experiance. But anyways what would all be needed to make this work? will it work with my mamba monster 2200? I am totally interested in being able to see RPM, speed, temp, and on fly controls.

I am very seriously looking at this as well.from what i understand it will be offered as a power up option.trade in your old system and for 150 bucks or so.get the new system.not sure if any sensors come with it or you buy what you want.end point adjustment on every channel,big bonus

I copy and pasted this to see all the options and parts. Now my real question is what would be needed to make this work?

Thats some bucks... if you already have a 2.4 link radio in your truck you don't need the RX... its the same part. All you need is the telemetry expander and GPS module if you want it. Thats how I understood it anyway. Could be wrong though.

You simply exchange your Transmitter.
The Transmitter works without iPhone.
If you want to connect your phone to your TX, you need the Docking base.

Traxxas Telemetry for XO-1 is only for XO-1 if I am not mislead...

From what I have seen, the rx is different, although very similar. It has the extra plug in for the expander and whatnot.
And as jamann said, it is made to use with a variety of different models. Just have to buy the sensors you want and hook them up.

you NEED to have the TQi RX if you want telemetry because it has the ports for the expanders

Traxxas sells no other trucks which require a 4 channel radio so I am pretty sure they will tailor it to work specifically for the summit (3 position 4th channel for the diffs).

Well I am converting my nitro 3.3 revo to electric, and needed a radio system better than the old TQ so I managed to snag a 4channel/5channel TQi off ebay for my Summit so I can drop the 2.4 in the revo. So soon I will be peicing together the rpm, docking base, and telementry sensors. I cannot wait!

Does anyone know how the RPM sensor works? From what I have read it has some kind of magnet in the spur or pinion gear and a reviever for the sensor in the cover? Or am I wrong?

Might want to pop over to the XO-1 forum for an answer on that since the Summit's TQi is sensorless.

But, I do believe you are right.

Yeah that's the one I bought. I also ordered a Mamba Monster for the 3.3 conversion.
