Just replaced my standard spur to the 54 included in the pack, but once you adjust the motor, it touches the plastic part of the ESC fun! Will it melt? Is it normal? Please help!!!!

what pinion are you using? I have 20t pinion and 58 spur and still have room to good down 2t probably before it hit the plastic.
He prob has the stock 18t pinion & it will be ok just get the mesh right......
Would you go flip my truck back over??
Yes guys stock pinion in this moment, but I have also a spare 14T pinion... Should I use the combination 54 spur to 14T pinion or 54/18 is ok even with the motor touching the ESC fun?
I don't think a 14/54 will mesh. Specially if a 18/54 almost will not mesh..
18/54...![]()

just change the motor mounting holes. you ll find ones that fit
It wont melt because it only touches a very small spot. I did knock off a small corner of the plastic on the ESC...right where it touches around the mounting screw. no problem. I am running the same 54t spur, not sure which pinion i am currently running.
I dremel a little bit the ESC (mounting of the fun) and now I have 1 or 2 mm gap and works well. I found also a 56T spur, and with this I have about 4mm and the performance is the same.
You could always move the ESC a little!
I'm currently running 18/54 and the motor doesnt touch the ESC but it almost does.
18/54 meshed ok but the motor was touching the esc. 20/54 leaves about 1.5mm of space.
