how capable is the mini summ

i have a mustang vxl right now and its just not cutting it for me right an since its close to the summit why not change it up but if i did i would like it to be an every were basher but a fue questions

how durable is it


what upgrades for the summ to make it more bash resistance


what is your upinionon the 3.2 rate springs?

in my opinion it doesn't even deserve to be called a summit.

I would expect it's as durable as my mini e revo but really it doesn't seem like it's suited for crawling at all. My merv is fun for fast dirt.

I've done my best to make mine as much a real summit as possible with a 550 size brushed system, low gearing, diff lock fluid in both duffs... It's a fun little truck and very capable on smaller terrain. But it ain't no 1/10 summit. That's for sure. If you want a go anywhere truck to compliment your full size summit the 2x4 pede is a great choice.

+1 to surfer i have a 1/10 summit and a 2x4 pede and they go hand in hand (gotta trailer to haul the pede with my summit)

Originally I was doen on the little summit (no 2 speed, no diff lock, made more for speed than off road) Then I purchased a pair for my son and I. Its a blast - not the crawler that the 1-10 summit is but good aff road and addictive speed. To make it more of a trail truck you can add certain things to make it down right tough.
1) Transmission gears can be switched around to give it a low gear like the 1-10 summit
2) Traxxas now sells a 1/16 diff lock insert to lock the diffs.
3) thick diff fluids work as well
4) its light so funky climbing maneuvers are a breeze.
5) if you really wanna rock crawl go for the brushed version, the VXL is much faster but coggs when going really slow.

Parts and upgrades are plentiful and cheap compared to the 1-10

ok i messed up i thought this was the mini forum

but ya .i already have a 1/10 summit and a 2x4 stampede and a mustang vxl
i have had the mustang since september and need to use it so im thinking about changing it to a mini summit for bashing

(could i get this moved to the 1/16 summit thread)
