It wasn't $800, but the shop I ordered it from hasn't ever changed their price with any changes so far. Who knows what actual street price will be... the new 16th Grave Digger is listed for $100 over Traxxas's $199 at Tower; 150% MSRP!

Good thing you dont, you'll be in debt before you even know it. if i didnt put it away and decide if i dont have cash in hand then i dont buy, it takes a while to have enough cash in hand to buy stuff so like that you watch what you spend and buy. I paid off my balance i owed for selling mailing items a while back, buying, and lets not forget INTEREST that thing they make money on.
I like the Summit wouldnt mind just getting the chance to drive you for like 5mins would be fine and content with that for a while till the next LOL.

I was looking at the amainhobbie site about the Summit w/TQi and the only differece I had seen was the TQi with an optional compatable docking station. The Traxxas Link is free as a download. It doesn't even say any thing about telemetry options. For a $250 markup I am confused. I hope they make an adjustment to the price.

The question that I have is does it have a channel switch for the locking differentials?

I was looking at the box picture and the TQi did not show a toggle switch however, I did notice that it does have a call out picture of the EVX-2 with LCD..cool. But does not give you LiPo battery instead they give you the regular 3000 power cell batts.

Would we really even benefit from having the TQi? I mean I couldnt see my self really concerned with my speed, rpm or even tempratures, I mean not on the summit, if it was Traxxas XO-1 I completely see how all that info is important. I dont know maybe its just me but I dont think I Summit owners could benefit much from it unless you just want a really cool remote. Thats probably the reason I would get it because its a sweet looking remote.

The reason I want to get the new radio system for my Summit is to use the battery voltage monitor telemetry. It would be nice to have a direct readout of what my LiPo battery voltage is while I am running the truck. I am now using a LVA on my Summit but the more ways to protect the batteries and truck are a good idea to me. I started using SPC 8200 2S batteries in my Summit, and I was thinking the batteries might be low before they actually got low. I ran the truck just about 2 hours running in low gear and in training mode(fine for walking speed on trails), and I pulled the batteries out and they were still at 7.7 Volts. I would have gone further down the trail if I knew I had that much run time remaining.
I still will use the system to its full use on my other cars and trucks. I figure I would get the 4ch TX and only use 2 channels for all my other trucks, or use the 3rd or 4th ch for lights or other uses.

There are quite a few sites listing the Summit with the new TQi radio...
not all have upped the price that much.
I just found one for $590.

    I saw a toggle switch...
Very last picture, right after the word "NEW".

If the LVD and the TQi go hand in hand, this means I could *could* have these features in the mail as we speak.

Now I need a non RC way to pass the time!!

So are they going to update the product page? Selling company having box photos up before the info is updated seems kind of backwards...

So I was trying to do a little more research on the Summit with the TQI and came across the website Big Rc Squid and apparently the Traxxas Summit's with the TQi remotes dont have a base for you to plug the Ipod into which means your
not going to get Telemetry unless you buy some optional part. Here is a clip that I got from there website....

    Rc Squid
"Looks like the Traxxas TQi will be available with most of their other vehicles. There will be two flavors. One with a Docking Base, and one without. The TQi with Docking base will come with the E-Maxx, E-Revo Brushless, Revo 3.3, and Slash 4◊4 Ultimate. The TQi without the docking base will come with the Summit, Slash 4◊4, Ford Raptor, and the 1/16th scale vehicles. You will then be allowed to purchase an optional docking base. (part #6510) Hopefully we donít need to buy the base, and can just use a cable if we want. I know I have seen Traxxas setups that allow people to use iPads. If we can confirm or deny this, we will post an update".

The Free Traxxas App provides real time telemetry, custom dashboards and tons of adjustments all using the iPhone.

I like that it now comes with LVD now i am leaning towards this now instead of the E Revo Brushless, as i wouldnt use the E Revo to its fullest with Lipos like 4s-6s so this would be great. 2s lipos are cheap enough for me to buy and run this all over the place, i mean i like going fast but costs more money with all the broken parts and going slower is cheaper as not much can break only get really scratched up under the summit but thats ok it was intented to be slow-medium fast. i like that its Big.

In my humble opinion, the only possible way to improve the Summit is to add LVD and making the steering servos less prone to stripping. Other than that it seems to me to be the most complete and perfect all around RC vehicle ever made.

If you look at pictures of a "regular" TQi and the TQi that is on the box...
The TQi on the box has a silver shaft sticking up a little further forward than the two red buttons... the others don't.
