Yes, it may be going bad. It would be a good idea to order another one or a higher torque servo to replace both of them. I ran a single traxxas 2070 for a bit and stripped the gears so be warned.

q - is it still buzzing when you remove the servo from the steering system, but still have it on power (on the receiver)?
yes - probably it is a bad servo
no - the servo horn rod needs adjustment so that the 2 servos dont apply force one to the other
Yup, like fuzion said, this may just need the link adjusted.
Yep. They're fighting each other (if it stops when 1 is hooked up).
Mine were that way from the factory. Pretty simple fix too!
well took apart the linkage yesterday and it looks like that servo is in fact DEAD when turning left and right the servo arm does not move all it does is make a bunch of buzzing
well even so, i would open it and check the gears... maybe you can turn around one of them and fix it. if you re good at that go for it.
Does traxxas make a good high torque servo?
Unfortunately no they dont. When u go aftermarket get something at least 250 oz and 0.15 speed.
The stock servos are 125 oz and 0.18 speed a piece.... On their best day.![]()
thanks guys i will hit up my LHS and see what they have to offer, can i buy one aftermarket one now and wait till the other working traxxas servo goes bad and replace that one later? or do i have to buy the servo's in pairs.
I seem to have the same problem. I bought the Brushless revo about 2 weeks ago and noticed from the Factory that the servos buzzed. I assumed (not a good thing) that it was ok since I bought it that way.
So are you all saying I should disconnect the arms and try readjusting to get the hum out?
Is there a post or youtube video that shows what steps to take/do in order to fix this?
Can any of you add some details on what you did? Like a step by step guide?
Thanks in advance,
Jim
like stated just unhook one arm & you will see how far the lenght is off, adjust as needed prob longer...
In this pic I was building the truck. You don't need to take the horn off. Just take one screw out of the arm.

Would you go flip my truck back over??
This has got me thinking about mine now, sorry to jump in but quick question should the car be silent after the initial beeps of it starting up?
yep you should not hear anything coming from the truck..
after they are adjust some times you have to lift the front of the truck to let the wheels & servo's fully center... then there will be no humming....
