    Soldering tabs on battery...

So I was soldering traxxas connected tabs on my new lipo and I accidentally touched the leads together...3 times...and they sparked...should I be concerned? If I test it in my esc might it short?

Do you have a cell checker? I would just put it on that and make sure it's "seeing" all the cells.

Nobody can without having it in hands.
Three times? Don't you have any masking tape in the house?

get a multi meter is what i use and for reference dont take or cut both leads at the same time and strip the wire thats why you did what you did best to just do 1 at a time and insert the traxxas tab into the connector making sure no wire is going to touch the next wire then cut the next wire off, strip it then solder it. this is the best way i have found to work and safe most of all not only to the battery but to you as well and your home.

Alright well I charged it fine charger said it was reading at 16.6volts and it took about 1800mah of charge (brand new first charge) and everything seemed fine...in reply to mike, I should have stripped one at a time like you said and I also did everything else u said but still managed to touch them when trying to insert the tabs into the connecter, and when I was just per tinning the tabs they rubbed together...I was pretty frustrated...this was also my first time soldering so you an imagine but I feel like I got the hang of it now

Just touching them usually isn't going to do anything, but if they make contact and weld together then you have something or the pack starts smoking also not a good sign, lol. A little spark isn't anything to worry about.

I started using shrink wrap now for my stuff to prevent that as well. buddyrc.com has them for cheap you get 1 ft each black and red for 12+10g wire i got 2 packs for mine so when i made adapter plugs and a series connector for my charger and emaxx. when i find the time ill do it for my lipos as well to be safe.
