Castle MMP with Novak 5.5 motor question?

I'm thinking about picking up a Castle MMP/SCT esc and running a Novak (3505) Ballistic 550 5.5 sensored motor on it with a 3s lipo. Anyone run this setup? Is there anything I need to make this combo run smooth? I run the MMP/SCT 3800kv setup in my rustler and love it but looking for a little more power and smoothness.

Cant imagine the Novak will make anywhere near the power of the Castle

Geared conservatively with a decent ESC the 3800 will run 3s

I don't know, so far from the few posts I have found people are really liking this setup. I'm trying to get a little more input on it from some people that have done it. There are a couple youtube videos with it and it looks promising.

Never heard of anyone getting decent speed out of one on 3s

The motor is only rated at around 800 watts

How do you plan to gear it ?

    Cheers

Wasn't sure yet still doing the research. See your running a Tenshock motor how do you like it? What do you think about the Tenshock Short Course Motor SC411 4000kv 4 Pole Sensored motor? Too high a Kv? Trying to stay with a sensored motor. I will be most likely be running it on the MMP/SCT esc.

Not really happy with the SC411 3500kv

It makes plenty of power but runs a little hot for my liking, might be ESC (Xerun 150) related and I plan to try it with a different ESC (MMP) in the next few days

The sensorless version of the same motor is a ripper and works well at 50 mph on 3s

    Cheers
