Ok so I am new to nitro rc, Always wanted one but could never justify the money will all my other hobbies. Well I ended up getting one in a trade deal from craigslist. Its a 2.5 tmaxx. From what I read online I believe it is a older one though I could be wrong.
Anyways, It does run but it was extremely rich, like to the point it was dripping fuel out of the exhaust when idling and spraying fuel when on the throttle. Though it was this rich it was still over heating, hovering around 280-290 and it is only 50 - 55 outside right now. Also when it was very rich it liked to die easily, pretty much when I stop shortly after it would die. So I turned the carb all back to factory settings and now it is over heating more, it seems like anything I do it wants to overheat. But the good thing is though it is very hot it does not die when stopping or anything like that. (I might add it is idling pretty high right now but I dont want to adjust that till everything else is good)
So what all can I do/check to help fix it? Though it wants to over heat within 3-4 minutes max up till that point it runs great just when I bring it in and check the temp its really hot.
Btw sorry for the long post but wanted to get all the info I could out there to make it easier to diagnose.
