bought a used T-Maxx and came with a different controller

I bought a T-Maxx 2.5 used from a friend of mine, who bought a lot of 3 trucks, and it came with a JR Racing XR2 controller. It doesn't have reverse and is kinda beat up. I wanted to use a TQ 2.4ghz but I'm not sure what I need. Can anyone let me know what I need to make that swap or has anyone done something similar. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance..

You need to buy a 2-channel transmitter and receiver. All of the newest 2.4 receivers are the same model number only the controller is different. Then plug the steering into Ch1 and throttle into Ch2 (be careful as there are 2 Ch1 ports).
